Research On Dic Monitoring Of Dynamic Deflection And Damage Identification Method For Small And Medium-Span Bridges, Wang Yong, Li Derui, Tang Haotian, Yan Xingfei, Cheng Bin
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
A large number of built small and medium-span bridges in China are facing the problem of increasingly degrading structural performance. Therefore, it is of great significance to carry out lightweight intelligent monitoring and realize damage identification and early warning, so as to ensure the safe operation of these bridges. For typical small and medium-span simply supported beam bridges, a damage analysis method based on measured dynamic deflection data was established by combining the influence line theory and mechanical constitutive equations. Furthermore, based on the high-precision monitoring algorithm and instruments of digital image correlation (DIC), the real-time dynamic deflection data of …

Comparative Study On Pouring Timing Of Sealing Hinge Concrete For Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Arch Bridge, Wang Xiaoliang, Fu Kaige, Zhang Song, Wang Zhongqiang, Chen Zhuoyi
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
The pouring timing of sealing hinge concrete for concrete-filled steel tube arch bridges directly affects the construction duration and the stress state of arch ribs. To clarify the structural response differences at different pouring timings, the Beiliuhe Extra-large Bridge on the Pingxi ‒ Cenxi Expressway in Guangxi Province was taken as the engineering background in this paper. A finite element model was established using Midas Civil, and the following four pouring timings of sealing hinge concrete were comparatively analyzed: immediately after the butt welding of sealing hinge steel pipes; after the closure of arch ribs and before the pouring of …
Study On Calculation Method For Incremental Launching Based On Nonlinear Analysis, Mo Shanfeng, Huang Cailiang, Qin Hui
Study On Calculation Method For Incremental Launching Based On Nonlinear Analysis, Mo Shanfeng, Huang Cailiang, Qin Hui
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
In view of the shortcomings of traditional incremental launching calculation methods and the assembly construction control of incremental launching beams, an incremental launching calculation method based on nonlinear analysis was proposed in this paper. This method could truly simulate the running state where the incremental launching pier remains stationary, and the beam moves forward. The assembly alignment of all segments of the beam and the real alignment of the beam under specified working conditions could be directly output. The prefabricated alignment of the main beam (i.e., unstressed alignment) did not need to be consistent with the slide alignment. When the …

(R2142) Queueing System With Batched Services, Server-Controlled Re-Service, Set-Up Time And Multiple Vacation, S. Karpagam, N. Aarthy, B. Somasundaram
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
To analyze a bulk queueing system with server-controlled admission for reservice, low-batch service, multiple vacation and set-up time. The study explores how the server dynamically adjusts between low-batch and bulk services based on the queue size. After completing a bulk service, the departing batch may request reservice with a certain probability. However, accepting the request is not mandatory, and the server admits it with some probability. Whenever the queue becomes empty, whether after reservicing, completing service with no reservice request, or ending the low-batch service, the server enters a random-length vacation. If the queue still has less than ‘a’ customers …

(R2140) Verifying The Proper Efficiency In Multi-Objective Problems, Javad Bavali, Hadi Basirzadeh
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Over the past decade, numerous approaches have been put forward to address multi-objective optimization problems-focusing on approximating proper efficient solutions instead of the efficient solutions. These methods are important because, according to Geoffrion’s conjecture, proper non-dominated solutions constitute a dense subset of the non-dominated solution set. In the current study, first, using the definition of Kuhn-Tucker’s proper efficiency, we present a linear subproblem that investigates the proper efficiency of a randomly selected feasible point. Additionally, the relationship between the different types of solutions to this sub-problem and the proper efficient solutions of the main problem has been analyzed. Next, we …

(R2187) Analysis Of Neurological Impairments In Hospitalized Patients Using Cubic Neutrosophic Sets, B. Anitha, M. Lavanya
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This study introduces an MCDM-based framework for identifying neurological diseases in hospitalized patients using symptom-based evaluations. A team of interns, guided by the chief doctor, was responsible for determining each patient’s precise condition from the presented neurological symptoms. To enhance diagnostic accuracy, the interns employed the TOPSIS and WASPAS methods to assess and rank the potential disease options. The combined analysis yielded a clear identification of the highest ranked disease for every patient, highlighting the effectiveness of these MCDM techniques in supporting clinical decision making.

Mathematical Modeling And Simulation Of Wheel Hub Stresses Using Finite Element Analysis In Light Military Trainer Aircraft, Alysson Sousa Rabelo, José Aécio Gomes De Sousa, Feliciano José Ricardo Cangue, Luiz Leroy Thomé Vaughan
Journal of Aviation Technology and Engineering
The landing gear of modern aircraft accounts for approximately 20% of the structural weight and 5% of the total weight. Among its components, the wheel hub endures particularly high loads during landing, often leading to cracks and porosity associated with casting-induced micro-voids in magnesium and aluminum alloys. Over time, cyclic stresses enlarge these voids, converting them into critical stress concentrators. Differences in alloy properties, such as yield strength, fracture toughness, and corrosion resistance, further influence how cracks propagate, underscoring the importance of rigorous manufacturing methods and regular nondestructive inspections. To investigate these vulnerabilities, stress analyses were performed on a military …

Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science
Studies by Scheltinga et al. (2002) and Scheltinga and Jamieson (2003) provide the most comprehensive analysis and only review of sperm morphology in Narrow-Mouthed Frogs (family Microhylidae). Of the 490+ species known to occur in this anuran family (Vitt and Caldwell 2014), only 3 are distributed in the United States (Powell et al. 2016), and 2 of these occur in Arkansas (Trauth et al. 2004). Surprisingly, sperm studies on only 12 microhylid species have been conducted (Scheltinga and Jamieson 2003), and no sperm studies are available on any North American species.

Makara Journal of Science
Moisture-resistant kraft paper is important for food packaging because it helps preserve product quality and extend shelf life. However, untreated kraft paper exhibits limited barrier performance owing to the porous and hydrophilic nature of its cellulose structure. Herein, the mechanical and barrier properties of kraft paper were enhanced by applying poly (lactic acid) (PLA) coatings using a dip-coating technique with PLA concentrations ranging from 1 to 5 g/100 mL and either single- or double-dip-coating cycles. The results showed that increasing the PLA concentration and applying a double dip-coating treatment consistently improved coating thickness, tensile strength, elongation at break, water resistance, …
