Secure Cislunar Communication Architecture: Cryptographic Capabilities And Protocols For Lunar Missions, Michael Hamblin, Bilal Abu Bakr

The surge in lunar missions intensifies concerns about congestion and communication reliability. This study proposes a secure cislunar architecture for real-time, cross-mission information exchange. We focus on cryptographic protocols and network design for a native IPv6 cislunar transit system.

Through a review of internet and space communication advancements, we emphasize the need for a secure network, exemplified by LunaNet. A robust data transit system with encryption is crucial for a common communication infrastructure. Traditional protocols face latency challenges. We advocate for user-friendly encryption methods to address confidentiality within the CIA Triad. Integrity is maintained through cryptographic message authentication codes. Availability …

Hand traumas may result from an accident, a burn, or even something far more common like a jammed finger. Due to the pain, the hand is immobilized and this lack of movement, in addition to the healing processes, can lead to a deformity. The specific deformity addressed in this project is a Proximal Interphalangeal Joint Flexion Contracture, which is when the middle knuckles of the fingers are stuck in a flexed position. Contractions can occur after trauma or certain illnesses. It is the shortening of muscles, tendons, skin, and nearby soft tissues that causes the joints to become very stiff. …

The mechanical behavior of composite granular rocks is a multifaceted phenomenon relevant to various geoengineering applications. Traditional homogenization models and continuum mechanics-based numerical methods often fall short of accurately capturing the intricacies of granular materials. Granular materials exhibit heterogeneity and arching mechanisms governing the force networks that ensure system stability. Unlike continuum-based approaches, particulate discrete element methods have an advantage in assessing effective material properties by considering material heterogeneity and grain-level physical interactions. This study evaluates effective elastic properties using particle flow code using flat-joint contact law for composite binary mixtures with a stiff inclusion embedded within a matrix material. …

Salt Production Via Hydrohalite Decomposition, Timothy Eisele

Salt production can include preparing hydrohalite particles by crystallization from saturated brine, adding the hydrohalite particles to the sale brine, thereby forming a hydrohalite-salt brine mixture, agitating the hydrohalite-salt brine mixture until the hydrohalite particles have decomposed into NaCl crystals, and filtering out the NaCl crystals from the salt brine. In some instances, an initial temperature of the salt brine prior to adding the hydrohalite particles is at least 0°C. In some instances, a ratio of salt brine to hydrohalite particles, by weight, is from 0.4 to 29.

The Plains CO₂ Reduction (PCOR) Partnership Atlas provides a profile of CO₂ sources and potential storage locations across the PCOR Partnership region. The revised sixth edition of the Atlas provides an up-to-date look at PCOR Partnership initiative activities, including additional regional characterization and updates on commercial projects. Additional background information on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) is included to give a better understanding of how CCUS addresses concerns about climate change while allowing future energy needs to be met.

This poster discusses an electric (E) and magnetic (H) field data gathering process across a series of High Voltage (HV) transmission lines. Data was collected from one DC and four AC Transmission (Tx) lines. Multiple DJI UAV (M2EA, M30, and M300) were used to collect E/H field measurements with an onboard set-up. These measurements included parameters such as E field in V/m, H field in mG, Battery voltage in V, Battery current A, Battery percentage in %, Battery Temperature in F, and latitude and longitude. The preliminary findings indicate that distance and sensor orientation affect E/H field distribution.
