A Companion Study Guide For The Cisco Dcicn Data Center Certification Exam (200-150), Miguel Ramlatchan
Distance Learning Faculty & Staff Books
The official Cisco DCICN book and practice exams are great resources, but this is not an easy exam. This study guide is a companion to those resources and summarizes the subject areas into additional review questions with an answer description for each item. This book is not a "braindump" and it is not bootleg screenshots of the actual exam. Instead, this book provides additional context and examples, serves to complement other study guides, and provides additional examples. If you are getting ready to take the exam for the first time, I hope that this guide provides the extra help to …
2018 - Groundwater Management In California, Michael Hanemann
2018 - Groundwater Management In California, Michael Hanemann
Related Research and Documents
In 2014, the California legislature for the first time took some steps to create a framework for regulating groundwater pumping in over-drafted basins by adopting the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), representing California's first statewide groundwater management planning program. SGMA called for local agencies to develop groundwater sustainability plans within the next five to seven years and then achieve sustainable levels of groundwater extraction by approximately 2040 to 2045. California's prior efforts to regulate groundwater extraction is discussed, as well as groundwater depletion.

1995 - North Monterey County Hydrogeologic Study Volume I, Water Resource
Monterey County Water Resources Agency Engineering Reports
The purpose of the investigation was to develop a better understanding of the hydrogeologic setting in the North Monterey County (North County) area and to quantify the various components of water supply and demand. The investigation also focused on the institutional and planning issues associated with the resource limitations and suggests possible responses to these limitations. The investigation was intended to provide the Monterey County Water Resources Agency (MCWRA), as well as the Monterey County Departments of Planning, Building & Inspection and Division of Environmental Health, with data essential to developing a ground water management plan and to support modifications …
1996 - Monterey County Hydrogeologic Study, Volume Ii -- Critical Issues Report And Interim Management Plan, Final Report
Monterey County Water Resources Agency Engineering Reports
This document was a companion report to the North Monterey County Hydrogeologic Study, Volume I, dated October 1995. The document built from the technical understanding and problem identification developed in Volume I and focuses on key issues relative to developing a management plan for the water resources of the area. These included the interrelated policy, legal and financial issues that complicate the management of the resource. The purpose of the report was to provide an analysis of these issues towards the development of long-range management objectives.
1998 - Salinas Valley Water (Preliminary Analysis Of) The Cause And Cost Of Seawater Intrusion
1998 - Salinas Valley Water (Preliminary Analysis Of) The Cause And Cost Of Seawater Intrusion
Miscellaneous Monterey and San Luis Obispo County Documents and Reports
An analysis of the historical cause of seawater intrusion in the Pressure Area of Monterey County. An annual overdraft of groundwater resources near the coast coupled with a seasonal cycle of over pumping created a reversal in the groundwater gradient and associated cones of depression. "Marine intrusion has occurred in the 180-foot aquifer in recent years as a result of overdrafts." (Bulletin 52, 1946, p.27). The only overdrafts on groundwater in the Salinas Valley were in the East Side and Pressure Areas. "There was no shortage of groundwater in the remainder of the basin and no threat of deficiency under …

2008 - San Antonio And Nacimiento Rivers Watershed Management Plan
Miscellaneous Monterey and San Luis Obispo County Documents and Reports
The purpose of the San Antonio and Nacimiento Rivers Watersheds Management Plan is to identify the existing conditions of and stresses in these watersheds as they relate to water quality, and recommend methods for reducing or eliminating those stressors such as alternative land use practices. The plan was created to:
The reservoirs and their respective watersheds are the source for water recharging the Salinas Valley groundwater basin.
There is a direct correlation between the health of these watersheds and the supply and quality of water for the Salinas Valley.
The Salinas Valley’s population and economy are dependent …

Miscellaneous Monterey and San Luis Obispo County Documents and Reports
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) are encouraging local and regional water management planners to establish integrated regional water management plans through the collaboration of planning efforts and project coordination. The intent is to encourage planners to implement projects focused on meeting multiple water resources needs on a regional basis. Jointly, both agencies are soliciting grant applications for Proposition 50 Chapter 8 grant funding, which was established to provide a fiscal tool to support integrated regional water management. In order to take advantage of this funding opportunity, Monterey County Water Resources …

Miscellaneous Monterey and San Luis Obispo County Documents and Reports
The new mapping provides a detailed stratigraphic history of incision and deposition from the early Pleistocene to the present. Infiltration from the Salinas River and its tributaries is the source of irrigation water in this agricultural region. Irrigation water is pumped from the aquifers at depths of about 55 and 120 m. Area has become intruded by seawater, especially between cities of Castroville and Salinas.

Concentric Contra-Rotating Dual Shaft Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, Emily Walz, Marcellin Zahui, Andrew Shires, Carl Gilkeson
Essential Studies UNDergraduate Showcase
A typical vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) consists of two or more airfoils all attached to a single central axis. The wind turbine style most commonly found in renewable energy is the horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) that have a high energy production efficiency in exchange for requiring large amounts of land and air space. Alternatively, a VAWT can function in low speeds and in smaller less typical locations. As a result, novel VAWT designs are researched to improve their energy efficiency. An example of a novel VAWT is the concentric counter-rotating VAWT investigated theoretically using the 2D computational fluid …

The Influence Of Shared Mobility And Transportation Policies On Vehicle Ownership, Edgar Bertini Ruas
The Influence Of Shared Mobility And Transportation Policies On Vehicle Ownership, Edgar Bertini Ruas
PSU Transportation Seminars
With the emergence of several new providers of shared mobility services, such as Uber, Biketown and Car2go, there has been the promise of changes to the traditional way of owning and using a vehicle. One potential consequence of the new mobility services is the reduction in vehicle ownership. At the same time, cities are trying to anticipate these changes by reducing the amount of space dedicated to parking. This thesis aims to asses the extent to which new shared mobility and transportation policy strategies (especially parking requirements and transit pass availability) relate to vehicle ownership among residents of multifamily dwellings. …

Webinar: Segmenting The Market For Transportation Demand Management Campaigns, Philip L. Winters, Amy Lester
TREC Webinar Series
Social marketing seeks to develop and integrate marketing concepts with other approaches to influence behaviors that benefit individuals and communities for the greater social good. It is a useful transportation demand management (TDM) planning approach to promote travel behavior change. The purpose of this study was to explore a consumer market segmentation technique successfully used in Europe for its applicability to marketing efforts in the United States. Attitudinal and demographic data were collected from 1900 individuals in Florida, Oregon, and Virginia modeled after the European approach. Clustering analysis was applied to divide the sample into segments so that members of …

Scenarios For Adoption Of Autonomous Vehicle Technologies In Freight, Sabya Mishra
PSU Transportation Seminars
Innovation adoption research has largely ignored organizational adoption, and little work has been done to understand or predict the adoption of innovations by freight organizations. Among the existing innovation adoption theoretical and methodological approaches this seminar will explore which are most appropriate methods for freight organizational adoption. The seminar will present a disaggregate market penetration model for freight transportation organizations adopting connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology and demonstrate an application using a case study area in Memphis, TN. The seminar will highlight ongoing and future organizational adoption research for CAVs, and other innovations.
