This work, we focused on the fouling behavior and mechanisms of forward osmosis (FO) fouled by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as anionic surfactants and of nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE, NP-40) as nonionic surfactant, including cleaning process to recover the system. Multi-component Ion Exchange (MIE) was proved to be a major mechanism occurred during Low Salinity Waterflooding (LSWF). Reduction of both total salinity and concentration of divalent ions of injected water together with a presence of monovalent ion results in dissolution of divalent ions linking between rock surface and oil. The system operates on periodic review basis using reorder point and order-up-to point or (R,s,S). This research was divided into two parts. The first part was to investigate the possibility to use maleic anhydride (MA) as a crosslinking agent for epoxidized natural rubber (ENR). The second one was to investigate the possibility to prepare the thermoreversible crosslinking of natural rubber (NR) when using glycerol (Gly) or diethylene glycol (DGly) as a thermoreversible crosslinking agent. The application of roughness structure of ribs inside a smooth channel is one effective way of heat transfer augmentation, but the accompanied pressure drop could be high. A novel V-rib design with branches was introduced and numerical simulations on the thermo-fluid impact of heat transfer and pressure drop were investigated. The parameters of investigation include the branching number and the pitch ratio of the V-ribs. The effect of Cr content on heat treatment behavior and abrasive wear resistance of multi-alloyed white cast irons with basic composition was investigated. The cast irons with varying Cr content from 3-9% were prepared. The annealed specimens were hardened from 1323K and 1373K austenitizing and then, tempered at 673K to 873K with 50K intervals. The microstructure of each specimen consisted of primary austenite dendrite (γP) and (γ+MC) and (γ+M2C) eutectics in specimens with 3 and 5%Cr. By contrast, (γ+M7C3) eutectic appeared in specimens with 6%Cr and more. The matrix in as-cast state was mostly retained austenite but that in as-hardened …

Ni-W alloy and Ni-W/diamond monolayer and multilayer composite coatings were prepared by electrodeposition from a Ni-W plating bath with diamond particles suspended into the bath. Ni-W/diamond composite coatings were also prepared with varying amounts of Cobalt sulphate additives. The morphology and the composition of the deposits was investigated by means of SEM and EDS, respectively. The effect of operating conditions and additives on the Ni-W coatings were analyzed. The effect of the plating parameters, composite particle size, multilayer deposits and cobalt additives on microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ni-W/diamond composite coatings was investigated.
