A secondary purpose was to explore how team members describe and rate the importance of their interdisciplinary collaboration using the four essential elements (reflection, flexibility, newly created roles, and interdependence) based on the model established by Mellin (Mellin et al., 2010). This paper provides English language teachers with valuable recommendations based on cross-cultural studies and my experience, as an ESL teacher, on how to be responsive to students from different cultures to empower and enhance their language proficiency skills.

This research aimed to evaluate the implementation of individual counseling results at Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Senior High School. Evaluation model used was gap (discrepancy evaluation model). In addition, population in this research was students who had attended individual counseling. Furthermore, research samples were 104 students, obtained by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection used was individual counseling scale. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings indicated that the majority of individual counseling results was in good criteria.

The particular study aimed to determine the effectiveness of achievement motivation training (AMT) in increasing the achievement motivation of junior high school students. The study used an interrupted time-series design which conducted on an intact group consisting of eight subjects. Data measurements carried out three times in the pre-test and post-test conditions with six forms of achievement motivation scale. The AMT intervention in the psychoeducation frame consists of two strategies, namely achievement thinking and action strategies which are carried out in 12 sessions. The results showed that there is a difference between achievement motivation scores before and after AMT interventions.

The objective of this research is to identify the influence of intelligence and social self interest on the adaptation skill of the department of guidance and counseling students. This quantitative research used the multiple regression analysis. It used purposive total sampling technique, with sample of 38 students of Department of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM). The results show that intelligence and social self interest of the department of guidance and counseling students simultaneously influence the adaptation skill of 35.9%, while the remaining 64.1% is influenced by other factors.

A creative journal arts and positive psychology intervention was utilized to explore resilience, personal recovery attitudes, and symptoms of depression in Latina/o adolescents. The impact of a seven-week group counseling experience conducted with adolescents was analyzed and revealed positive improvements for participants in all three areas. Benefits for Latina/o youth participating in this type of group are discussed and guidelines for school counselors and clinical mental health counselors are revealed.

Interviews were conducted with eighteen graduates of the San Bernardino City Unified School District’s Restorative Youth Court. These interviews yielded a view of how participants in the Youth Court program viewed their experience. In their view, the Youth Court was nearly always transformative and its dispositions fair. They were affected by the presence of their parents for their hearings but the main thing that seemed to lead to the transformation was being judged by their peers. They also took their responsibility seriously when they became the jurors for other respondents and doing so affected their thinking about their own case.

This paper details a survey study of high school counselors’ awareness of and comfort with advising students in technician/technologist careers. The survey focused on careers designated as Bright Outlook by the US Department of Labor to explore familiarity with these careers, the effectiveness of the current career advising process, and recommendations on additional support or resources. Results indicate participants were more familiar with technician/technologist careers in health and medicine than those in engineering or other areas of science. The two studies presented describe the revision process that led to the development of the Awareness of Privilege and Oppression Scale–2 (APOS-2) and efforts to evaluate the new measure’s reliability and construct validity. In Study 1, a 26-item measure was developed from data gathered from a sample of 484 undergraduate students. An exploratory factor analysis suggested a four-factor solution made up of awareness of racism, sexism, heterosexism, and classism was appropriate. In Study 2, confirmatory factor analysis suggested the proposed hierarchical four-factor solution was the best available fit of the data using a second sample of 520 undergraduate students. The …

The particular study aimed to determine the differences performance between school counselors in organizing individual counseling services in schools in terms of educational background and work experience. The research approach was descriptive survey through a descriptive comparative study design. The subjects were school counselor in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, especially at Bantul Regency. The data analysis technique used two way ANOVA. Based on the statistical tests, the educational background and work experience did not significantly affect the performance of school counselors in providing individual counseling services in schools.
