This article offers a critical examination of Tom Crewe's biographical novel The New Life (2023), focusing on its representation of homosexual subjectivity in Victorian England—a historical context defined by restrictive moral norms and punitive legal regimes that criminalised same-sex relationships. Drawing on Michel Foucault's theory of discursive power, Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick's concept of the closet, and Michael Boucai's topology of the closet, the study demonstrates that the novel portrays the closet not merely as a private site of concealment but as a complex social mechanism shaped by legal regulation, gender norms, and class-based power relations. The aspects of translation acceptability are not related only to the accuracy and clarity of the translation. They also cover the naturalness of translation. This study aims to reveal the degree of translation naturalness of the Quranic imperative verses. This evaluative study compares the translations of the verses by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (MORA) and the one made by Muhammad Thalib (MT). This article explores how digital recording practices, amid contemporary technological transformation, rearticulate the musical meaning of karawitan, reshape listening experience, and reorganize its modes of cultural circulation. The study is situated within broader scholarly debates on digital mediation, particularly concerning the shifting relationship between recorded sound and the socio-spatial and ritual contexts that have historically constituted karawitan performance. Using a descriptive qualitative case-study approach, the research draws on in depth interviews with musicians (pengrawit), scholars, distributors, and listeners, supported by observations of recording environments, patterns of online circulation, archival sources, and indicators of platform based distribution. This study examines how economic concepts are metaphorically constructed in Indonesian and Chinese news headlines. Employing the Lakoff and Johnson's framework of Conceptual Metaphor Theory, the study analyzes and compares conceptual metaphors in economic news headlines from CNBC Indonesia and China Business Network published between January and April 2025. Employing a qualitative methodology guided by MIPVU, the study mapped conceptual economic metaphors in a corpus of 500 economic news headlines. The Banyumas and Banyuwangi dialects of Javanese exhibit notable lexical similarities, particularly in their retention of Old Javanese vocabulary, consonant endings, the specificity of vowel phonemes, and syllabic structures. These linguistic commonalities necessitate further research at other linguistic levels to substantiate the similarities between these two geographically distant dialects. This comparison also serves as a basis for reinforcing the hypothesis of a historical migration of Javanese speakers from Banyumas to Banyuwangi. This study examines the role of the Gawang Angklung (Galung) application, a visual-based digital tool integrating traditional angklung music with interactive visual cues, in supporting inclusive music education for deaf learners. Designed to bridge the gap between sound-based musical instruction and the learning needs of students with hearing impairments, Galung enables ensemble participation through synchronized visual signals. Using a convergent mixed-methods design, data were collected from 24 deaf students, four music educators, and two application developers through interviews, classroom observations, and questionnaires. Quantitative results showed significant improvements in rhythmic accuracy (p < .01) and tempo recognition, while qualitative analysis revealed increased motivation, collaborative engagement, and communicative confidence. This study maps the phonological abilities of early childhood in PAUD Tasikmalaya, focusing on language sound acquisition and use. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through classroom observations and interviews with 4- to 6-year-old students in various PAUD institutions, including state-owned, private, Islamic, and Christian schools across Tasikmalaya. Language reflects the logical structure of reality and shapes how speakers perceive themselves and their surroundings. Language relativity reinforces the connection between language and cultural behavior. This study examines the worldview of the Puger fishermen community, a speech community within Jember Pandhalungan culture, through their language use and discourse patterns. Their linguistic repertoire, shaped by coastal life in south Jember, East Java, influences their speech behavior. Using ethnographic communication methods, this study classifies and analyzes their speech discourse based on six worldview elements. This study rigorously evaluates machine learning models for classifying culturally significant Javanese Wuku texts from the “Keagamaan atau Spiritual” category, a domain challenged by unique linguistic nuances and limited digitized resources. We compared Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes, and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) on texts from five pivotal Wuku types (Sinta, Galungan, Kuningan, Sungsang, Warigalit) sourced from sastra.org, aiming to identify the most effective computational approach. A popular language expression is music, as it is a symbolic avenue for conveying thoughts and emotions. In this research, Kun Anta songs will be analyzed and classi-fied into several types of deixis using Levinson’s framework, while correlating the con-tained optimism with relevant phenomena. It is shown that deixis is fundamental in expression. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on the pro-cess and providing descriptive data to better understand the phenomenon under investigation. German textbooks encompass various facets of German culture. However, teachers in Indonesia often overlook the significance of German culture. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive account of the German cultural components found within German language textbooks used in Indonesian universities.
