The purpose of this research is to find a strategy for Indonesian humor material by Cak Lontong. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data was collected using the method of referring to the basic tapping techniques and advanced note-taking techniques. Data analysis in this study uses a referential equivalent method with similar linking techniques to support codification, reduction, presentation, and interpretation under a qualitative research framework. Personal names are considered “specific words”and thus most often kept untranslated. However, as translation theory has developed, making it not only changing language features but also mediating cultural aspects, personal names are reconsidered in translation. Since they are culturally bound, this study aims to find out, when personal names are translated, what translation strategies apply and why. This paper discusses Indoesian Lombok poem as a form of resistance toward Tuan Guru (master teacher) hegemony in Lombok. In 2000s, Tuan Guru achieved hegemonic position in Lombok. This paper uses the Gramsci hegemony theory because literary work is assumed to have hegemonic power. The result shows that the conception of Islam is formed in the story of Dewi Rengganis which tells the mixture of Arabic and Lombok Islam. This study aims to reveal the relation between pragmatics and grammar, especially in Balinese language, which usually has been widely separated. The data were collected through document recording on a number of manuscripts and interviews with informants spreading out over five districts/cities in Bali Province as a representation of dialectal variation. Based on the theory of semantic structure it revealed that grammatical choice was motivated by pragmatic needs to realize Balinese hegemonic politeness in awig-awig of pakraman of the villages. This study aims at analyzing the translation of English passive sentences into Indonesian language, in terms of the meanings and equivalence which appear in the translation. The method used to analyze the data is a descriptive quantitative. The sample of this research is taken from five chapters of the novel Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. The result shows that the translation of passive sentences comes into several types of meanings: lexical meaning 37%, grammatical meaning 2%, textual meaning 5%, and contextual meaning 46%. Aphasia is a language disorder caused by brain injury. This study aimed at describing how the pragmatic process and forms on words and language phonemes of those suffering from global aphasia. The study is qualitative research using case study approach. This research aimed at describing the application of Lesson Study to increase lecturer’s teacing performance in teaching Nahwu. The researchers used classroom action research in two cycles. The subjects of this research were the students taking Nahwu course with low competence. The result showed that the lecturer model was successful to enhance his patience which he did not recognise before to solve his teaching performance of “difficult” course, i.e. discussing the problem with his colleagues. The observer of this Lesson Study scored 95% for the success of applying Lesson Study, and 98% for the positive change of each step done.

Epiphany is a crucial event encountered by an individual which gives him/her an insight in his/her journey of meaning making to life. This qualitative research aims at finding out epiphany of RII represented in her anthology of short stories, novelets, novels. The research has found out that RII, as a diffable figure, is mentally capable of creating extraordinary works which are: (a) useful for others, (b) inspiring, (c) affecting surrounding people to be stronger, and (d) mostly true-story based. Balinese language is divided into two dialects, namely Bali Dataran(DBD), and Bali Aga (DBA) dialect. The DBD variation happens vertically, but not in DBA. Some vocabularies in DBD that are classified into low(Tak-Alus/TA) are classified as common variants in DBA. This research aims to explore the Balinese personal pronoun variations in DBD which DBA in Sembiran(DS), and Seraya Timur(DST). The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of using Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach in Arabic Language Research Method Class. It uses a quasi-experimental (pre- experimental design). The result shows that generally using PBL is effective in both aspects of the learning process and the learning outcomes. The specific findings in this research is that the using PBL is not effective for students in the lower class category both from the aspect of competence, learning attitude, willingness to learn, learn discipline, and activeness in class.

Previous research findings have led to a gap that sociopragmatic failure, instead of pragmalinguistic failure, has scarcely been resolved despite its crucial function in communication. Therefore, this paper proposes a story-based approach, particularly a joint storytelling with multi-party interaction, to deal with learners’ L2 sociopragmatic sensitivity. EFL learners with diverse cultural backgrounds need a motivating environment with agents that can co-construct experiences for optimum learning. This study aims to reveal the stereotypes about government formed by HTI in the propaganda bulletin articles published in Al-Islam. This study uses descriptive qualitative critical discourse analysis approach of Fairclough’s models. Based on textual analysis (micro analysis), discourse practical analysis and socio-cultural practical dimension (macro) the buletin indicates that HTI provides a solution by building a positive stigma against the struggle doctrine of HTI, namely the application of Islamic law and the need for Godly Muslim leaders. Its meaning depends on the point of view taken. As a part of critical thought, there are several points of view selected to find the meaning of the lingga-yoni artifact, they are anthropological, formal-structural, mythological, philosophical, and positivistic. From the positivistic point of view, lingga-yoni artifact might be assessed as the basis of probability and causal laws viewed from the relevant construct of positivistic thoughts.
