This article describes the phenomenon of instability bissu characters in literary works by Faisal Oddang. The research subjects were the novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat and short story anthology Sawerigading Datang dari Laut. Both of these works were used as a source of primary data, whereas books or journal articles about bissu was used as a secondary data source. This article utilizes the theory initiated by Brian McHale statement about literary work in the postmodernist zone. Extensive listening is crucial for language development, especially when students’ exposure to the target language is not adequate. This study presents how VOA Learning English website is integrated into an English listening classroom as a listening activity outside the class. Data were collected through questionnaires and learners' extensive listening journal weekly entries, seeking to examine students’ learning experiences and views on experiencing the website. Teen lit serves a central position in the conception of masculinity in teenagers due to its closeness to them as readers. For teenagers, physical masculinity is relatively highlighted compared to masculinity in other dimensions. Physical masculinity is expressed through classic names, which is related to strength, and is signified by ‘provincial’ names. Physical masculinity is also conveyed through the expressions of the eyes and figures. Besides, a specific cultural icon typically related to handsomeness is also used to construct physical masculinity in teen lit.

This study aimed to describe the quality of translations results by Google Translate and Microsoft Translator in translating classical Arabic texts based on the translation of the book Matn Al-Ghāyah wat Taqrib by Faiz El Muttaqin by looking at three aspects in the target language; accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The data of this study were analyzed using comparative qualitative research methods. The results showed that Google Translate got a better score than Microsoft Translator. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of discipline formats on student development and analyze if the practice of restorative justice can decrease the school to prison pipeline. Does criminalizing every discrepancy against the law create better law-abiding citizens? Is the zero-tolerance policy change an effective mechanism for school discipline? Do restorative justice practices reduce the school to prison pipeline? To investigate this, the infraction rates at various high schools have been observed in regard to their discipline practices to analyze the number of incidences that students incur and how they were managed.

Inspired by partnerships between medical schools and museums that produce measurable outcomes in the frequency and sophistication of diagnostic observations through limited art history-based interventions, this paper documents the re-orientation of a traditional art history survey course to explicitly address foundational visual literacy skills. This Spring 2019 pilot implemented a series of exercises and assessments designed to directly target transdisciplinary components of visual literacy and to highlight these competencies through student discussion and reflection with minimal disruption. Short stories constitute parts of the Intermediate Reading course materials. This study aims at finding the students’ views towards (1) the themes, novelty, level of difficulty, and length of the stories; (2) the reading and questioning tasks; (3) the discussion mechanism, and (4) the potentials of the short stories and the discussion mechanism to improve their reading strategies. This article discusses the 'Self-portrait' in modern Korean poetry Jahwasang (hangul: 자화상) by Yoon Dongju using the Riffaterre’s semiotic theory. Semiotic theory assumes that literature is a semiotic fact of humanity. Semiotic means that literature is a collection of meaningful sign systems. The purpose of this study is to find the meaning of 'self portrait' written on Jahwasang. The research method of this study is a qualitative method. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that poem "self portrait" is about Yoon Dongju’s reflection and introspection of the past.
