Purpose: A student preparation strategy of growing interest is the implementation of computerized curricular assistive tools (CCAT) into a nursing program’s senior-level curriculum.

Methods: This study investigated a Virginia baccalaureate nursing program’s integration of a CCAT into a senior-level course to assist students in preparing for the comprehensive exit and NCLEX-RN examinations while improving the program’s first-attempt NCLEX pass rate. Agricultural practices have significant and often negative effects on native bee populations. It is imperative that we understand how current agricultural practices affect native bees. Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is cultivated heavily in western Kansas and is grown in rotation with winter wheat. This analysis presents preliminary results from a study conducted in summer 2023 in which pan traps were placed adjacent to two sorghum and two wheat fields in Ellis Co. Kansas. The juvenile waiver was established in 1966 with the landmark case Kent v. United States. This case deemed it constitutional to transfer youth from the juvenile court to the adult criminal court, and significant repercussions have since ensued. One issue includes the notable 3.5% increase in the recidivism rates for youth subjected to the waiver (Augustn, 2017a). The purpose of these waivers was to impose harsher punishments, particularly for serious offenses like murder, and this "tough on crime" approach gained momentum in the 1990s. While the public debates whether law enforcement has a problem with mis- or over-using force, the field lacks critical information concerning how often officers use force in their dealings with citizens. Consequently, the various reforms proposed have little evidence supporting them. Using data from Mapping Police Violence combined with census and LEOKA data, we examine the impact of U.S. Supreme Court jurisprudence and the restrictions that each state placed on law enforcement’s ability to use force and what constituted reasonable force within each state. This article explores the common criminological themes prevalent within the recent video game Cyberpunk 2077 as an example of popular criminology. Far too many juveniles are incarcerated in juvenile correctional facilities, and in some cases, waived into the adult criminal legal system. Life course theory helps explain this pathway as many of these youth grow up in poverty-stricken environments, with restricted access and poor quality of schooling, during which they may experience abuse and neglect, leading them into the school-to-prison pipeline. Likewise, youth experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—forms of abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction—endure the additional abuse-to-prison pipeline. This study aims to more deeply understand the role of the ASYMMETRIC LEAVES 2 (AS2) gene in Arabidopsis. During leaf development, the AS2 protein keeps the KNOX genes turned off so that leaves can develop. We use CRISPR technology to create mutations in specific regions of AS2. These mutations are predicted to change the protein structure of AS2, which may result in a mutated leaf. The analysis of the mutation allows us to better understand how AS2 keeps the KNOX genes off.

Understanding the shale(s) ultimately advances the discernment of complex Arbuckle reservoirs that are critical to the Kansas petroleum industry. IAS has been intercepted by oil wells throughout Kansas, but this study focuses on their presence in portions of Ellis, Rooks, Graham, and Trego counties. The Impact Of Kangaroo Care On The Weight Gain Of Premature Infants, Heather Vincequere

Premature birth remains a global health concern, affecting approximately 15 million infants annually (WHO, 2023). Kangaroo Care (KC), involving skin-to-skin contact between caregivers and infants, was developed as a promising intervention to mitigate the adverse effects of prematurity. This study aimed to investigate the impact of KC on weight gain among preterm infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Doctors Hospital of Augusta (DHOA). A quasi-experimental quantitative posttest-only design was employed, with eight preterm infants (< 37 weeks gestation) participating in KC for at least 30 minutes daily. Daily weight measurements were collected over a four-week period and compared to the expected weight gain for infants receiving traditional incubator care. Results revealed a statistically significant increase in weight gain among infants receiving KC compared to the historical average for infants in traditional incubator care (t (7) = 2.443, p = 0.022). A large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.864) further supported the significance of these findings. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and convenience sampling, this study emphasizes that KC enhances weight gain in preterm infants, thus improving overall health outcomes. Implementation of KC requires ongoing support from nurse leaders to ensure proper education and successful integration into routine care practices. Nonetheless, continued research with larger samples and improved randomization is warranted to fully understand the long-term benefits of KC in neonatal care settings.

Altitude (or elevation) can have significant impact on the way a baseball travels after it is hit by a baseball player. Thus, understanding the effects of elevation on baseball can be important for players, coaches, and teams in determining game strategies and evaluating player performance. In this study, data is used from Kaggle to examine the effects of different variables from all 30 baseball stadiums. This data is from Major League Baseball (MLB) ballparks from the 2022 season. After researching, I have found that there is a direct, positive correlation between stadium elevation and hitting distance.

A comparison between the extent that sciurid specimens display vigilance and foraging behaviors on college campuses against specimens within urban environments. Observations of fox squirrels and western gray squirrels were taken from the Squirrel-Net behavioral database used for this project. We found there was a significant difference between the percent vigilance behaviors and foraging behaviors on college campuses compared to urban environments. This suggests that squirrels residing on college campuses are more desensitized to pedestrian activity and foot traffic compared to squirrels that inhabit urban areas.
