The objective of this project is to collect and analyze waste cooking oil from the food

court shops on Davis Campus, to determine best methods of purification, and to optimize the production process in which purified oil will be utilized for manufacturing soap. The project will provide a means of reducing waste disposal costs, recycling of used oil, reducing environmental impacts and providing a sustainable contribution to the Davis Campus that could potentially be replicated at our other campuses

This project, part of ProsFit’s Digital Double program, aims to aid prosthetic wearers. Utilizing an “Integrated Digital Twin” method, it enables remote assessment and optimization of mobility, predictive gait analysis, and falls risk prevention. With AI and limited clinical resources, it enhances prosthesis comfort, mobility, and energy efficiency, empowering local interventions and direct user interaction.

The Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies collaborated with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to integrate a counselling simulation pilot project within the Professional Practice Courses for the Social Service Worker program. Learn about the process faculty and students went through in collaboration with CAMH to create the simulated learning experience. The current Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantifications system (POP-Q) is quantified by using finger measurements, which suffers from subjectivity and inconsistency among clinicians. The project with COSM Medical aims to develop a mechanical tool that is able to measure key parameters of pelvic floor and accommodate the anatomical constraints of the human vagina canal, while being easy-to-use, relatively inexpensive and biocompatible

Although advising and dispensing of pain-relieving medication (PRM) is not within the purview of many sport health care providers, many are asked by athletes to provide such medication. Sport health care providers indicated that they appreciated having more information to relay to their athletes. This study adds to supporting more educational initiatives for sport health care providers to recognize misuse and provide information related to PRM and opioids.
