Evaluation Of An Adult Education Technology Program, Iwasan D. Kejawa

Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education: Theses and Other Student Research

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adult education technology program at a chartered alternative adult education center in Florida. The adult education center had a low rate of students passing the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). This study examined the impact of the use of computer technology in an effort to improve student learning in mathematics, reading, and science. Computers at the institution were used by all students for tutorials to prepare them for the FCAT and to obtain a high school diploma. The research questions for this study were as follows: 1. Sturm College of Law: Faculty Scholarship

The three articles in this cluster challenge the consumerist, productoriented notion of teaching in American society today. As such, they provide some answers to my dilemma. They suggest that I should follow core ideals of community, caring, teaching and learning. They suggest, especially Darder's article, that the consumerist path fulfills neither the self nor the community ultimately. They all have at their core a notion of teaching more effectively for the challenges of today's society by breaking down artificial classroom walls and barriers and urging a pedagogy of community engagement.

Students and faculty alike would like to know what factors are related to success in college courses. The purpose of this study was to evaluate factors that relate to a student’s success in Animal Physiology I (Phys I), an upper-level animal science course at the University of Arkansas. Student data were confidentially collected and coded. Data collected were student high school grade point average (HSGPA); composite ACT score; English, reading, math, and science subscores on the ACT; and student grades in English composition I and II, college algebra, chemistry, biology, microbiology, animal physiology II, and reproductive physiology. I. Transition to University Task Force: Purpose and Mission

The Transition to University Task Force was appointed in May 2003 by Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Richard Edwards to review and assess the effectiveness of first-year undergraduate orientation programs and courses. This review was to result in a proposed framework or plan for coordinating and supporting these separate programs.

It has been determined that even though a higher high school grade point average is required for admission into the honor program of the university, many applicants to the program were under-prepared to asumme the workload demanded of the students by the Honor College. Published in one of the first collections to focus on independent writing programs, A Field of Dreams. The volume offers a complex picture of the experience of the stand-alone.
