All Master's Theses
This study utilized 90 college women from Central Washington University to determine if there are significant differences in strength scores between Rowney Knees-on Push-up Method and three body position variations and cadences. The main outcome of this research reflected two significant differences between Rowney's method and body position and cadences. No significant differences were found between experimental body position variations and cadences. Pressure Basketball And The Speed Game: A Comprehensive Coaching Philosophy, Lanny Vaneman
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
There has been in the past, and likely will continue to be, an obvious lack of printed material dealing with the discipline of basketball. The wide spectrum of everything that is to be taught, as well as how it is to be introduced (in the writer’s opinion) has been neglected. Rather than focusing on one phase or a limited number of areas of interest, this work attempts to serve as a comprehensive basketball coaching manual for a beginning mentor. It should also serve well for one who wishes to reevaluate or revise his coaching philosophy. Careful thought has been given …

A Study Designed To Establish Norms For The Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test Utilizing Somatotypes, Dean A. Blevins
All Master's Theses
The purpose of this study is to develop norms for the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test in each somatotype classification as determined by the Heath-Carter anthropometric measurement. At the present time, norms exist only for the group as a whole which is comprised mainly of mesomorphs. This, of course, results in a great many endomorphs who score poorly, or not at all, and some ectomorphs who also do poorly. It is proposed that endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs should each have their own norms.

A Study Of Non-Participation Excuses In Physical Education Classes, Stewart R. Crook
Graduate Student Research Papers
Basically speaking, it is important for pupils to attend school and to be present and to participate in ways in which the subject matter itself requires. The pride of every educational specialist in the secondary schools requires and expects such attendance and participation. It is a well documented fact that the field of education in the United States is committed to the preservation and care of student health. The problem of non-participation arises because of virtual intimidation of the public schools in …

Many excellent physical education programs have been ruined as a result of an instructor being found …

The Administration Of Safety In Physical Education, James John Nelson

Once this has happened a curtailment of physical education programs could take place which would, eventually, have detremental effects on the physical fitness of youth. As in any other phase of school work the primary responsibility for the successful functioning of the school safety program in physical education rests with the administrator.
