Student success in science courses is a critical focus for K–12 educators, particularly during the transition period of middle-school, where students face increasing academic and social demands. Self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies have been shown to enhance academic outcomes by fostering independent learning and metacognitive awareness. However, research on the implementation and effectiveness of SRL interventions in middle school science classrooms, particularly within the constraints of public school settings, remains limited.

This narrative review analyses the social development of students with special needs in Indonesian inclusive schools by synthesising five high-quality empirical studies (indexed SINTA 1–3) published between 2018 and 2023. Addressing three research questions, the synthesis reveals heterogeneous and generally limited social development trajectories shaped primarily by ecological interactions rather than inherent disability characteristics. Key barriers include symbolic inclusion, inadequate teacher training in multimodal strategies, low peer acceptance, and systemic resource deficits, whereas facilitators encompass contextualised multimodal communication, active family involvement, and supportive institutional leadership. Reading proficiency among learners at the elementary school level remains a national concern despite several decades of research, investments, and policy reforms aimed at improving literacy outcomes. The Science of Reading (SoR) framework, grounded in decades of interdisciplinary research, emphasizes explicit, systematic, and evidence-based instruction across five core components — phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Behavior management has long been a challenge for teachers in general, but there has been a lack of research on behavior management through the lens of personality type, such as introversion. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the strengths and skills of introverted teachers to facilitate positive behaviors in their classrooms, as well as challenges they encountered. In a semi-structured interview, five teachers from a school district in the Central Upper Peninsula of Michigan were presented with a specific set of questions (See Appendix C) targeting their experiences in behavior management as introverted teachers. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to examine educator perceptions of mindfulness instruction and the alignment of school policies in rural elementary schools in Tennessee. Despite growing interest in mindfulness in education, few studies have investigated how these practices are experienced and implemented within under-resourced, rural contexts.

Guided by Bandura’s Social Learning Theory (SLT) and framed conceptually by the Whole-School Mindfulness (WSM) model, the study explored how social, organizational, and policy factors influence the adoption of mindfulness practices. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluatif yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di sekolah dasar Kecamatan Bulupoddo, Kabupaten Sinjai, menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan guru mata pelajaran, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada evaluasi Context, pelaksanaan kurikulum operasional satuan pendidikan sudah baik, meskipun beberapa aspek memerlukan perbaikan. Usia sekolah dasar adalah fase kritis dalam perkembangan moral dan sosial anak. Tanpa pengembangan pemahaman multikultural yang sistematis, anak akan kehilangan peluang membentuk dasar toleransi yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan profil pemahaman multikultural dan sikap toleransi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi cross-sectional dengan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Penelitian terhadap 79 siswa kelas III SD Gugus II Kecamatan Waringinkurung menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa memiliki pemahaman multikultural dan sikap toleransi pada kategori Baik, tanpa ada siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori Sangat Kurang, meskipun masih terdapat sebagian kecil siswa dengan tingkat pemahaman dan sikap toleransi yang Cukup maupun Kurang.
