How K-3 Classroom Teachers Are Dealing With Pupils Coming From One-Parent Homes Due To Separation Or Divorce, Nancy Mitchell

The Relationship Of Student Sex, Attractiveness, And Self-Esteem To Teacher Preference Of Seventh Through Eleventh Grade Private School Students, Susan Montgomery Booker
Teaching & Learning Theses & Dissertations
This study tested the null hypotheses that student sex, attractiveness, and self-esteem were not related to teacher preference. It was assumed that these variates were communicated nonverbally through photographs. Two hundred twenty yearbook photographs of Caucasian seventh through eleventh grade students attending a private school were considered for the study. Attractiveness and self esteem scores were associated with each student's :10Lo graph. The attractiveness score was obtained by a survey of the photographs. The Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory was administered to the students to produce the self-esteem score. A set of criteria was established to determine degrees of attractiveness and self-esteem. …

A Longitudinal Study Of Self-Concept In Late Adolescents, William Davy Thomas
All Master's Theses
Since knowledge of self-stability is important to self-theory, a study as briefly outlined above seemed valuable. The four chief parts of the study to emerge are given below: 1. To investigate the stability of the self-concept of adolescents over one and two-year intervals. 2. To investigate the stability of the self-concept and its relationship to such factors as social status, intelligence, and maturation age. 3. To investigate the favorability of self-concept and to see if such things as social status, intelligence, and maturation age make for differences in favorability. 4. To investigate the differences between drop-outs and continuands when all …

The Relationship Between The Intelligence & Emotional Stability Of Seventh & Eighth Grade Pupils, Thomas Boone
The Relationship Between The Intelligence & Emotional Stability Of Seventh & Eighth Grade Pupils, Thomas Boone
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
A question nearly as old as the intelligence test itself led the author to make the investigation upon which this thesis is based. For years people in education and related fields have speculated as to whether the most intelligent children were the most stable emotionally or whether these brighter children tended more readily than the dull or average child to exhibit undesirable personality variations.
Practically everyone has, at some time in his life, used one or two isolated circumstances to prove the point that the more intelligent children were emotionally unstable or that the duller children were more unstable , …
