In schools, technology is used as a tool to enhance the knowledge and skills of learners with disabilities. The three primary challenges for students with visual impairments are access to information, independent travel, and a lack of meaningful experiences. Assistive Technology (AT) can mitigate these deficits. This study aims to determine the use of AT in schools. An online survey was distributed to schools in Canada, the United States, and adjoining territories; 347 teachers of students with visual impairments (TSVIs) responded to the survey. This study examines Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students’ experiences with co-creation activities in education programs. Responding to voiced student concerns, it seeks to uncover ways in which students wish to share ownership of the learning process. Additionally, this study aims to contribute students’ thoughts to the existing co-creation literature. Incorporating evidence from a survey and multiple participant interviews, this study demonstrates that students across all three levels of study wish to experience an increase in co-creation activities, but the type and extent vary by level of study. The emergence of AI-powered Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini, presents both opportunities and challenges for higher education, particularly regarding academic integrity in writing instruction. This exploratory study examines a novel pedagogical approach that integrates LLMs as required feedback tools in a university-level psychology writing assignment. The exclusive online approach emphasizes improvement through revision, requiring students to obtain AI-generated feedback on ungraded initial drafts based on an instructor-provided rubric, with final assessment focused on the quality of subsequent revisions. The problem of practice I studied in this investigation was how to effectively and intentionally merge oral language support with a comprehensive literacy-based intervention (Reading Recovery®) for a student population exhibiting oral language concerns. This mixed-methods study focused on dual and monolingual students with limited language development, which resulted from various root causes. The United Arab Emirates has embraced inclusive education across all academic levels since 2006. However, the degree of teacher acceptance of inclusive practice varies. This mixed-methods case study investigated 48 primary school teachers’ concerns, self-efficacy, attitudes, and intentions regarding inclusive pedagogy in English literacy for bilingual dyslexic students aged 5-11. It also identified challenges faced by teachers in mainstream classes. Using correlation analysis, results showed negative associations between teachers’ concerns and efficacy, attitudes, and intentions for inclusive practices. On the other hand, positive associations were found between teacher efficacy, attitude, and intentions for inclusive practices. Challenges included reconciling the bilingual …

This collection of materials contains typewritten and handwritten notes, memos, informational booklets/pamphlets/leaflets, and other miscellaneous items. Most of the items relate to aesthetics, culture, charm, personal grooming, and etiquette, and were probably used by Alta Millican (1916-2001) to teach Freshman Orientation to co-eds at Jacksonville State in the 1940s-1950s. Dr. Millican ended her tenure at JSU in the 1980s as Dean of the College of Library Science and Instructional Media, but she was also a dorm matron, counselor, and a professor of Education earlier in her career.
