Assessment Of Breastfeeding Education In Medical Training, Saranya Madan, Abigail Kuplicki
Assessment Of Breastfeeding Education In Medical Training, Saranya Madan, Abigail Kuplicki
Medical Student Research Symposium
In 2019, the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine issued a revised set of educational objectives for medical trainees at various stages of education. In this statement, objectives for medical school were broken down into preclinical and clinical training objectives. In this project, our goal is to assess the degree to which medical training at Wayne State University School of Medicine is addressing these aims.
The assessment of breastfeeding education is accomplished by surveying medical students at various stages of training (M1-M4) and eliciting their level of confidence in and understanding of the topics outlined in the objectives by the Academy of …

Instructional Message Design: Theory, Research, And Practice (Volume 3), Miguel Ramlatchan (Editor)
Instructional Message Design, Volume 3
Message design is all around us, from the presentations we see in meetings and classes to the instructions that come with our latest tech gadgets to multi-million-dollar training simulations. In short, instructional message design is the real-world application of instructional and learning theories to design the tools and technologies used to communicate and effectively convey information. This field of study pulls from many applied sciences, including cognitive psychology, industrial design, graphic design, instructional design, information technology, and human performance technology, to name just a few. In this book, we will visit several foundational theories that guide our research, look at …
A Time To Create Change: A Case Study Of Culturally Relevant Education, Colleen Kopay
A Time To Create Change: A Case Study Of Culturally Relevant Education, Colleen Kopay
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
An opportunity gap exists in the United States school system where students of color score lower on standardized tests and have fewer opportunities than their white counterparts. Culturally Relevant Education (CRE) theory attempts to close this gap, and is defined by Gloria Ladson-Billings (1995) as
Pedagogy that rests on three criteria or propositions: (a) Students must experience academic success; (b) students must develop and/or maintain cultural competence; and (c) students must develop a critical consciousness through which they challenge the status quo of the current social order (p. 160).
In short, CRE is the use of culture, rigor, and critical …

Initial Findings On Student Progress And Satisfaction In A New Model Of Hyperflexible Online Delivery For University Students, Colin Beer, Kate Ames, Noal Atkinson, Damien Clark, Peter Hosie
Initial Findings On Student Progress And Satisfaction In A New Model Of Hyperflexible Online Delivery For University Students, Colin Beer, Kate Ames, Noal Atkinson, Damien Clark, Peter Hosie
Journal of Global Education and Research
University degrees are usually delivered in defined sessions —by term, semester, or in week-based blocks— whereby students are required to complete their studies by the due date. Term or session-based schedules that require students to complete the study within set timeframes are, however, potentially restrictive. Temporal challenges associated with work and life can impede progress and add to the specific problem of student attrition in online learning. As universities seek to deliver innovative options for their students, increased attention is being paid to alternate models of delivery. This paper reports on the development of a hyperflexible online Master of Business …
Determining Students’ Personality Traits According To Parental Perspectives: A Scale Development Study, Cengiz Aglar, Tuncay Dilci
Determining Students’ Personality Traits According To Parental Perspectives: A Scale Development Study, Cengiz Aglar, Tuncay Dilci
Journal of Global Education and Research
The educational community recognizes individual differences, but it is important to fully address them in educational settings. While there are existing studies on personality traits, none focus on the personality traits of students aged 6-18. This study aims to fill this gap, as personality traits significantly influence personal, academic, and professional life. Understanding student personalities allows for the development of more effective educational programs, facilitating their full potential. The study included parents of 2,229 students from a population of 16,505,271 aged 6-18 in Turkiye. Through exploratory factor analysis (EFA), a reliable 61-item 5-point Likert scale (α = .942) was …
Coping Strategies And Stress Of The Undergraduate Nursing Student In The Clinical Setting: An Evidence Based Practice Quantitative Study, Ashley Calverley
Coping Strategies And Stress Of The Undergraduate Nursing Student In The Clinical Setting: An Evidence Based Practice Quantitative Study, Ashley Calverley
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The assessment of perceived stress and coping behaviors related to first-semester clinical might benefit students in nursing education. The assessment of most common coping behaviors and perceived stress related to the clinical setting is essential due to difference in personalities, learning abilities, and coping behaviors among nursing students today. Previous research has suggested the initial clinical period results in adverse outcomes, such as poor academic performance, elevated burnout levels, and diminished personal well-being. These factors are detrimental to academic success in nursing programs. Evidence supports that helping students develop positive stress/coping abilities will aid in adapting in both the academic …
Remotely Close: A Phenomenological Exploration Of How Online Education May Impede Academic Persistence And Social Integration, Daniel Ryan Day
Remotely Close: A Phenomenological Exploration Of How Online Education May Impede Academic Persistence And Social Integration, Daniel Ryan Day
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The aim of this transcendental phenomenological study is to define and describe the lived experiences of those who have taught and taken online classes at post-secondary Assemblies of God schools. Tinto’s theory of academic persistence and social integration served as the guiding theory of the study, as it was an indispensable part of exploring how online education may impede academic persistence and social integration between students and professors. The central question of the study deals with how online educators may improve academic persistence and social integration between their students and themselves by applying Tinto’s model of integration. By strategically utilizing …
