The Global Learning Academy is an innovative global and intercultural learning program that combines online courses with a two-week theme-based field experience at key international, U.S., and local/virtual locations. Much like higher education in general, education abroad and international education were turned upside down with the pandemic. In response, we have developed a creative new model that will allow us to meet some of our long-standing priorities around access for a changing student population; interdisciplinary learning on critical global themes; integration with existing academic programs; and flexibility and adaptability in uncertain times. In this session, we share our experiences and best practices in discussing issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (e.g., systemic racism, intersectionality) in a completely remote setting. We discuss our experiences in "educating the educators" in offering Inclusive Excellence Academy (IEA) sessions, presentations to various units across campus, as well as participating in the "Equity Now!" training sessions through the University of Southern California. Due to wildfires in fall of 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic in spring of 2020, Sonoma State University lost 50 service-learning courses, and as a result, almost 900 fewer students completed a service-learning course than the previous year. During the summer of 2020, the Center for Community Engagement began developing service-learning projects that were designed to be done remotely and address either COVID-19 or engage students with involvement in the fall 2020 election. This research had concerned with determining the importance of the educational institution's name, brand, and its satisfaction with the followed teaching and learning methods which consequently affected his evaluation, final grades, and his recommendation to others to get enrolled. The research concluded that there is no correlation between the students' preference for memorization style and their grades. Much scholarship available on team-teaching focuses on K-12 programming, with limited examples in post-secondary education. Adding to the growing research on college-level team-taught courses, this reflection describes how interdisciplinary team-teaching can offernot only a pedagogically innovative experience for students but also highlight the strengths of the faculty in their teaching and research areas. In addition to reviewing the differences between interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary curricula, we reflect on our experience deliveringGlobalization as a team-taught course, designing learning outcomes and course material, and negotiating classroom strategies, highlighting successful components and considering future iterations.

This paper addresses the following question: How does student perception of teacher appearance, age, and community connection affect student achievement in the classroom? Literature from ERIC, EBSCO, Google Scholar, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), Sage Journals, and the Gutman Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Education was reviewed for international academic studies published between 1960-2021. A variety of qualitative and quantitative research was considered from elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions. This paper explores the relationship between homework and academic achievement in the areas of homework time, parental involvement and home support, and teacher ideation and student conceptualization. The findings of 30 academic articles were analyzed and compiled into literature reviews. All relevant findings were categorized based upon their association to three areas. One, time spent on homework was positively correlated with student academic achievement. Two, parental involvement in a supportive home environment had significant impacts on achievement and homework completion. The purpose of this literature review was to investigate the effectiveness of common curriculum initiatives in mathematics in the United States. First, the study examined the effects of these initiatives on the rates of students’ math anxiety. Second, the study evaluated policies related to curriculum requirements for their effectiveness in improving test scores, closing racial and socioeconomic gaps, and course failure rates. Specific policies were the effectiveness of mandating Algebra 2 and the implementation of Algebra 1 for all eighth-grade students. This essay explores and expands the boundaries by which honors is defined and defines itself. By opening a path toward a more expansive and public perception of honors, the author argues for emphasis on the public good as a key element in honors discourse and the broader dissemination of its theories and practices. Drawing from characteristics of the public intellectual, the author encourages honors practitioners to resist hyper-professionalization and insularity in favor of more open and collaborative practices.

In this paper, we describe an IRB-approved (exempt) study designed to help us understand the impact that engaging with a peer mentor has on student learning in the online, intermediate composition classroom.
