Math anxiety is a fear of math-related activities. The problem addressed in this study is the lack of understanding of the link between math anxiety and math performance. Students and educators are affected by math anxiety. This study explored perceptions of teacher retention from the lens of veteran teachers in an effort to examine why teachers remain in the classroom. According to Carver-Thomas and Darling- Hammond (2017), teacher turnover negatively impacts student achievement and the efforts to replace teachers puts school districts in a financial bind. Through the interview process, this study examined the stories of fifteen veteran teachers in East Tennessee as they described their experiences of persistence in the field of education. This qualitative case study investigates how Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) influence teacher self-efficacy and collaboration in a rural school district. Using a qualitative case study approach, researchers will collect qualitative data through focus groups and interviews. Themes drawn from this study include trust and relationships as the foundation of collaboration, structure and purpose, challenges and barriers, teacher buy-in and perceptions, trust and collaboration, PLC structure and implementation, and the impact on teacher efficacy and student success. The core issue addressed by this study is the problem of poor school identification among students, which leads to low attendance, poor graduation rates, and limited participation in college preparation activities. This qualitative case study explored stakeholders' perceptions in Baxter County, Arkansas, regarding workforce development initiatives at Mountain Home High School Career Academies and Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. The purpose was to understand if these initiatives met local employers' needs and contributed to creating a skilled and educated labor force, thereby enhancing the area's economic vitality. This qualitative phenomenological study aimed to explore the experiences of female superintendents in leadership positions, focusing on the opportunities and barriers they faced on the journey to the superintendency and in the position of superintendent. Women are underrepresented in the superintendency in the female-dominated educational field. The study examined the role of gender in leadership by identifying the barriers and opportunities women experienced along the path to the superintendency and in the superintendent position. The purpose of this non-experimental quantitative study was to investigate the relationship between learned helplessness and academic baseline levels among adult students who dropped out of high school and have returned to a high school equivalency program to prepare to take the GED examination. The study controlled for the variables of the age of the student at the time of GED program enrollment, gender, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. There is a teacher shortage in Oklahoma. To address this teacher shortage, the Oklahoma Department of Education has eased restrictions by providing an alternative pathway into the classroom called emergency-certification. This study explored the relationship between principal leadership style and collective teacher efficacy in K-12 schools across five districts in South Carolina. The research problem addressed how different leadership styles—transformational, transactional, and passive-avoidant—affect teachers’ collective beliefs in their ability to positively influence student outcomes. A correlational quantitative research design was employed to examine the relationship between leadership style and collective teacher efficacy. The guiding theoretical framework was based on transformational leadership theory. Data was collected using the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. This qualitative narrative study explored the perceptions of public-school general education teachers on the training they received for referring students to special education. Two key aspects of this were investigated: (1) navigating the special education referral process, and (2) using individualized interventions that are effective with African American male students. The problem addressed in this study is the overidentification of African American male students in special education. The purpose of this study was to determine the motivators and hygienes that affect the job satisfaction and classroom efficacy of community college faculty in Arkansas. Using Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, this research found motivating factors, such as the nature of the work, autonomy and independence, and professional relationships to be associated with overall job satisfaction of the participating faculty. Conversely, hygiene factors, namely salary, funding for travel for professional development, and communication with administration were associated with faculty job dissatisfaction. This qualitative phenomenological study examines special education teachers’ perspectives to understand how virtual learning environments can support, through social–emotional interactions, the cognitive development of students with low-incident disabilities in a homebound setting. For this study, which was based on Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory (1978), qualitative data were collected through 15 semi-structured interviews with special education teachers with experience providing virtual instruction to students with low-incidence disabilities. The study’s findings showed that special education teachers perceive virtual instruction as benefiting low-incidence disability students in a homebound setting.
