Exploring The Level Of Engagement Of Capstone Students In An Active Learning Center, Carol Ann Sharicz

This study provides a qualitative exploration of the level of engagement of Capstone students attending course meetings in an Active Learning Center (ALC) during their own respective semester at a public research university in the Boston area. A design-based research methodology was employed to study innovative learning environments encompassing learning in context. Study results uncovered three themes regarding the impact of the learning space on students’ perceptions of learning and levels of engagement; revealed that one particular tool, the use of small white boards, encouraged deep thinking and reflection; and indicated that the ALC provided a highly collaborative experience.

Comparing Self-Delivered To Instructor-Delivered Reinforcement During Vocational Instruction For Students With Intellectual Disability Using Video Activity Schedules, Katherine Elise White

In this study, an adapted alternating treatments design was used to compare the effectiveness of teaching vocational task when using self-delivered reinforcement versus instructor-delivered reinforcement while using video prompting. Participants consisted of four high school students who had been diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. Results indicated that instructor delivered reinforcement was slightly more effective at teaching a vocational task for 2 of the 4 participants. The results of the other 2 participants indicated that both forms of reinforcement delivery were similarly effective.

Performance-based assessment (PBA) is different from traditional testing methods in that PBA presents real-life problems for students to solve by integrating critical thinking with their content knowledge and skills. Implementing PBA regularly in mathematics classes is associated with improved student achievement and motivation to learn; however, there are concerns about the general lack of psychometric data to support the use of performance assessments. Self-regulated learning (SRL) and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) are associated with academic achievement, but fostering these skills is not easy. Scholars have suggested an alternative way to scaffold these important skills through learning analytics (LA). This paper presents a formative evaluation of a course-level LA implementation through the lens of self-regulated learning (SRL) and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). We explored the changes in students’ SRL, HOTS, and perceptions at the end of the course term. Results indicate an increase in some elements of SRL and HOTS, and positive student perceptions. With the many educational resources available to today’s educators, it is critical that educators utilize the best options to maximize instructional time and resources. With the widespread use of Khan Academy, it is worthwhile to examine if its most well-known attribute, its math program, is effective in improving student outcomes. This study examined if the use of Khan Academy in a high school math course would improve participating student scores over the course of a quarter marking period. The researcher anticipated that participating students would experience higher math scores and increased confidence in their ability to handle covered mathematical concepts.

Law school pedagogy is a relic. Nearly 150 years after Christopher Langdell pioneered the case method, the typical doctrinal course remains predominantly a verbal domain, featuring lectures, Socratic dialogue, and final exams. But the visual disconnect between legal education and legal practice does students a disservice. Under the proliferating influence of laptops, iPads, smartphones, and Zoom, students now read, work, and study electronically more than they ever have before. So instead of business as usual, it’s time to embrace “visualization”—using multimedia to enhance, or even supplant, the near-exclusive reliance on language—to build a more vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

The Heads Down Display (HDD) Menu Trainer – a stand-alone software trainer – was developed to familiarize students in Remotely Piloted Aircraft training with the layout and manipulation of the HDD menus for either the MQ-1 or MQ-9. Preliminary work by Waller et al. (2016) established the efficacy of the HDD Menu Trainer in improving student performance from pretest to posttest scores across several modalities (i.e. traditional, blended, and distance). Student and teacher perceptions of both traditional grading and standards-based grading were studied. One class period of 11 students participated in 3 weeks of traditional grading and 3 weeks of standards—based grading. As the teacher, I documented and categorized my observations of student achievement and independence during the labs. Following the final week of standards—based grading, students provided their perceptions through a questionnaire. Results showed support for the use of standards—based grading from both the student and teacher perspectives.

The research dissertation examined, through a self-administered survey, the activities academic program coordinators perform at a US research-intensive university and whether they suffered from role strain during the 2020-2021 academic year. The dissertation also explored what academic program coordinators found satisfying in performing their roles. The research contributes to the field of higher education by providing a better understanding of the roles and activities academic program coordinators perform, along with factors that cause role strain among program coordinators. A total of 47 program coordinators responded to the survey representing a 20% response rate.

This phenomenological research study explored industry certifications in career and technical education. A grand tour question and three research questions guided this study. Data collected from interviews with graduate of career pathway programs, career and technical education instructors, and industry employers provided a thorough understanding of the issues experienced in career and technical education. This study revealed a need for appropriate industry certifications in career and technical education programs and the workplace. In addition, the participants expressed a desire for students to start preparing earlier for their careers and be provided with alternatives to college for post-secondary education.

This research seeks to add to that body and evaluate an environmental education program about the sustainability of plastics, using both quantitative and qualitative data collected from participating students. งานวิจัย เรื่อง การพัฒนาโมเดลการวิเคราะห์อารมณ์ครูในชั้นเรียนผ่านการรู้จำคำพูดด้วยการเรียนรู้เชิงลึกมีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อพัฒนาโมเดลการวิเคราะห์อารมณ์ครูในชั้นเรียนจากการวิเคราะห์ความรู้สึกผ่านทางข้อความที่ได้จากกระบวนการรู้จำคำพูดโดยใช้การเรียนรู้ของเครื่องและการเรียนรู้เชิงลึก และ (2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความเหมาะสมของโมเดลการวิเคราะห์อารมณ์ครูในชั้นเรียนที่ได้พัฒนาขึ้น ข้อความที่ใช้ในการพัฒนาโมเดลมีจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 23,974 ข้อความ เก็บรวบรวมจากแหล่งข้อมูล 2 แหล่ง ได้แก่ วีดิทัศน์การสอนของครูในชั้นเรียนรายวิชาสังคมศึกษา ศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม จำนวน 11 วีดิทัศน์ที่ได้รับการแปลงเป็นข้อความผ่านกระบวนรู้จำคำพูด และฐานข้อมูล Wisesight Sentiment Analysis ในการพัฒนาโมเดลการวิเคราะห์อารมณ์ครูในชั้นเรียน ผู้วิจัยใช้โมเดลการเรียนรู้ของเครื่อง 3 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มที่ 1 โมเดลกลุ่มที่มีการจัดกระทำข้อมูลก่อนการวิเคราะห์และทำการวิเคราะห์จำแนกอารมณ์ครูด้วยการเรียนรู้ของเครื่อง จำนวน 4 โมเดล กลุ่มที่ 2 โมเดลที่มีการสกัดคุณลักษณะจากข้อความด้วยการเรียนรู้เชิงลึกโดยใช้ autoencoder และมีการวิเคราะห์จำแนกอารมณ์ครูด้วยการเรียนรู้ของเครื่องจำนวน 4 โมเดล และกลุ่มที่ 3 โมเดลกลุ่มที่มีการจัดกระทำข้อมูลก่อนการวิเคราะห์และทำการวิเคราะห์จำแนกอารมณ์ครูด้วยการเรียนรู้เชิงลึก จำนวน 2 โมเดล ผู้วิจัยดำเนินการจัดเตรียมข้อความให้อยู่ในรูปแบบที่พร้อมสำหรับการนำไปวิเคราะห์ด้วยการสกัดคุณลักษณะจากข้อความด้วยวิธี TF-IDF และมีการลดจำนวนคุณลักษณะด้วยกระบวนการ Principle Component Analysis (PCA) แก้ไขปัญหาความไม่สมดุลกันของจำนวนข้อมูลในตัวแปรตามจึงใช้เทคนิค SMOTE และโมเดลทั้งสามกลุ่มมีการปรับแต่งไฮเพอร์พารามิเตอร์ของโมเดลการวิเคราะห์อารมณ์ครูในชั้นเรียนด้วยวิธีการตรวจสอบไขว้ (Cross validation) การเปรียบเทียบประสิทธิภาพของโมเดลพิจารณาจากค่าดัชนี ความถูกต้อง ความแม่นยำ และความไวในการจำแนกกลุ่ม ผลการวิจัยที่ได้ พบว่า 1. จากทั้ง 3 กลุ่ม พบว่า โมเดล LSTM ที่มีการปรับไฮเพอร์พารามิเตอร์มีค่าความถูกต้องของโมเดลที่ใช้ในการจำแนกอารมณ์สูงที่สุด ร้อยละ 71 โดยมีความแม่นยำและความไวในการจำแนกกลุ่มทั้งสามประเภทโดยภาพรวมได้ดีที่สุด 2. โมเดลกลุ่มที่ 1 โมเดล Support Vector Machine ที่มีการกำหนดไฮเพอร์พารามิเตอร์ มีค่าความถูกต้องในการจำแนกอยู่ที่ 66% สำหรับโมเดลกลุ่มที่ 2 ที่ใช้โมเดล Multilingual Universal Sentence Encoder ในการสกัดคุณลักษณะควบคู่กับการจำแนกด้วยการเรียนรู้ของเครื่องของโมเดล Support Vector Machine และ โมเดล …

การตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของครูมีส่วนในการพัฒนาคุณภาพและทักษะในการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งนิสิตฝึกสอนที่กำลังจะเป็นครูในอนาคต จึงจำเป็นต้องฝึกทักษะการตรวจงานให้มีความเชี่ยวชาญมากขึ้น วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยคือ เพื่อออกแบบและพัฒนาเครื่องมือประเมินและแนวทางการพัฒนาทักษะการตรวจงานเขียนของนิสิตฝึกสอนภาษาอังกฤษ จากการวิเคราะห์วิธีการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษจากมุมมองของครูภาษาอังกฤษ ตัวอย่างวิจัยเป็นครูผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ นิสิตฝึกสอน และนักเรียนโดยจากการเลือกตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยได้แก่ แนวคำถามสัมภาษณ์ปลายเปิดแบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง แบบสอบถามความต้องการจำเป็นด้านทักษะการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนิสิตฝึกสอน และเครื่องมือประเมินการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนิสิตฝึกสอน ใช้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา การประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ครูใช้วิธีการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับเชิงแก้ไขโดยตรงและวิธีการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับเชิงแก้ไขโดยอ้อมต่อข้อผิดพลาดในงานเขียนของนักเรียนที่แตกต่างกัน ทั้งนี้ ครูยังให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับ คำแนะนำ และคำติชมให้แก่นักเรียนในงานเขียน นอกจากนี้ ผลจากการประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นด้านวิธีการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษพบว่า นิสิตฝึกสอนมีความจำเป็นในเรื่องการเขียนข้อเสนอแนะลงไปในงานเขียนของนักเรียน ส่วนนักเรียนมีความจำเป็นในเรื่องการให้อาจารย์นิสิตเขียนคำอธิบายแก้ไขข้อผิดพลาดให้ชัดเจนมากที่สุด ในขณะที่อาจารย์นิเทศก์มีความจำเป็นเรื่องการให้นักเรียนแก้ไขงานเขียนด้วยตนเองมากที่สุด ผลการวิจัยทั้งหมดนำไปสู่แบบประเมินในรูปแบบข้อคำถามและตัวเลือกพร้อมภาพประกอบโดยประเมินระดับของทักษะการตรวจงานเขียนด้วยเกณฑ์การให้คะแนนรูบริกแบบแยกองค์ประกอบ และแนวทางการพัฒนาทักษะการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนิสิตฝึกสอนในลักษณะข้อควรปฏิบัติ ที่ให้นิสิตฝึกสอนพิจารณา 1) ข้อผิดพลาดที่นักเรียนสามารถแก้ไขเองได้ 2) ข้อผิดพลาดที่นักเรียนไม่สามารถแก้ไขเองได้ 3) การสร้างแรงจูงใจในการเขียนของนักเรียน และ 4) การให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับในงานเขียน แนวทางการพัฒนาที่ได้จากงานวิจัยนี้ สามารถนำไปใช้เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการตรวจงานเขียนภาษาอังกฤษของนิสิตฝึกสอนต่อไป

การพัฒนาโปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะสมองอีเอฟ เพื่อส่งเสริมการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิดและการรู้ดิจิทัล สำหรับนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย, ธนวินท์ สุริวงศ์

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1. วิเคราะห์สถานการณ์การรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย 2. ออกแบบต้นแบบโปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะสมองอีเอฟในการส่งเสริมการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิดและการรู้ดิจิทัลและ 3. วิเคราะห์ผลการใช้โปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะสมองอีเอฟ ในการส่งเสริมการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิดและการรู้ดิจิทัล สำหรับนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย และเปรียบเทียบคะแนนการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิดและการรู้ดิจิทัลระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม และ 4. วิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิดและการรู้ดิจิทัล ผู้วิจัยแบ่งขั้นตอนการดำเนินการออกเป็น 3 ระยะเพื่อตอบวัตถุประสงค์แต่ละข้อ ดังนี้ ระยะที่ 1 เป็นการทำความเข้าใจและวิเคราะห์สถานการณ์ กับนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย จำนวน 69 คนและครูผู้สอนจำนวน 3 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้วิจัยคือ แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมและแบบสัมภาษณ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ครูประจำชั้นและครูผู้สอน สอดแทรกในการสอนและการจัดกิจกรรมเกี่ยวกับการยืดหยุ่นทางความคิด บางส่วน โดยส่วนใหญ่เป็นการฝึกความคิดสร้างสรรค์ให้กับนักเรียน รวมถึงการสังเกตพฤติกรรมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง (M=6.25, SD=2.63) หมายถึง มีปัญหาพฤติกรรมการรู้ดิจิทัลบางรายการ แบ่งตามองค์ประกอบรายย่อยคือ ด้านการใช้งาน และด้านการสื่อสาร อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง หมายถึง มีปัญหาการรู้ดิจิทัลบางรายการ ควรได้รับการส่งเสริม และด้านการตระหนักรู้ อยู่ในระดับน้อย หมายถึง มีปัญหาการรู้ดิจิทัล ควรได้รับการปรับปรุง ระยะที่ 2 เป็นการออกแบบต้นแบบโปรแกรมการฝึกทักษะสมองอีเอฟ โดยมีผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการพัฒนานักเรียน จำนวน 5 คน ร่วมอภิปรายกลุ่ม รูปแบบชุดกิจกรรมประกอบด้วย แผนกิจกรรมทั้งหมด 10 ครั้ง ๆ ละ 60 นาที ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาจากกรอบแนวคิด ได้แก่ ข้อมูลการศึกษาระยะที่ 1 รวมถึงข้อมูลผลการระดมความคิดจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญในการพัฒนาต้นแบบ และข้อมูลการสังเคราะห์ เอกสารและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการพัฒนาทักษะสมองอีเอฟในกลุ่มทักษะพื้นฐาน ประกอบด้วย (1) การจำเพื่อใช้งาน (2) การยั้งคิดไตร่ตรอง และ (3) การยืดหยุ่นทางความคิด ระยะที่ 3 เป็นการทดลองใช้ต้นแบบ โดยดำเนินการทดลองกับตัวอย่างวิจัยคือ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 จำนวน 2 ห้องเรียน รวมทั้งสิ้น 69 คน แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่มคือ กลุ่มทดลอง 1 ห้องเรียน จำนวน …
