Community College Presidents And The Role Of Conversational Leadership, Jennifer K. Labounty

Purpose: The purpose of this phenomenological research study was to describe the behaviors that exemplary community college presidents practice to lead their organizations through conversation as depicted by Groysberg and Slind’s (2012) four elements of conversational leadership: intimacy, interactivity, inclusion, and intentionality.

Methodology: This qualitative, phenomenological study described the lived experiences of exemplary community college presidents as they lead their organizations through the use of conversational leadership. The sample population for this study was community college presidents who met the criteria of exemplary from single-college districts in Southern California. While the literature is replete with studies of the factors contributing to the failure and social deviance of African American males, few qualitative studies have been conducted to determine the factors that support the success of African American males, and virtually none have focused on the transition of African American males from out-of-home care to postsecondary educational institutions. Despite the challenges faced preceding and during out-of-home care, African American males can transition to postsecondary educational institutions. There is a need to understand why some African American males who experience out-of-home care can accomplish this while others cannot. It is imperative …

The article contains data on the species composition and distribution of parasitic calves in the eyes of farm animals and their intermediate hosts in Uzbekistan. As a result, the study of the causative agents of telasiosis was established only in the eyes of cattle and camel. In this case, in cattle, four species are found and the camel has one type of veal. Four species (Musca larvipara, M. domestica, Musca lucidula and Musca sp.) of flies were identified as intermediate hosts of calves
