The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study was to explore how subordinates describe their leader’s political skill and their organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) during a merger in the airline industry in Arizona. This study aimed to provide further exploration on leader political skill relating to mergers in the airline industry and if leader political skill can positively influence merger outcomes by increasing subordinate OCB levels during a merger through the breadth of information provided by the participants of this study.

This study is aimed at understanding the circumstances that contribute to teacher retention and attrition in urban schools in the Southwestern United States. Harris et al. (2019) reported that at the national level, 16% of all teachers attrit yearly. Attrition contributes to the increasing teacher shortage problem that many districts face. The purpose of the study, guided by Chris Argyris’ organizational theory, examined the circumstances that contribute to the attrition of highly qualified teachers and the extent financial incentives are linked to the retention of highly qualified teachers. Eight semesters of qualitative data, collected over four academic years, are presented from a project that resulted in the development of a student professional learning community of high-achieving, low-income engineering and engineering technology student veterans. In the context of this project, student veterans received academic, professional, and financial support that helped them to be successful in school and to prepare them for a career in the STEM workforce. This phenomenological qualitative study explores students’ experiences navigating test-optional admissions when applying to post-secondary education. This thesis examines how test-optional admissions influence students' admissions decisions. The recent policy changes in college admissions practices raise questions about student experiences when making decisions when regarding test-optional admissions. First, this study explores the factors that go into a student’s decision on whether to submit test scores in their college application. This presentation was conducted for a national conference about mentoring. The authors discussed Tinto’s Model of Institutional Departure and Schlossberg’s Model for Analyzing Human Adaptation to Transition as theoretical frameworks to explain the transition and retention of university professors. The focus on the study was the three authors who transitioned to the same university during the 2022-2023 academic year. Authors discussed their experiences of the transition and found themes related to the mentoring process that that acclimated them to the institution and influenced their retention.

Within the subset of lawyer presidents, one major commonality is government law experience in their career prior to the campus presidency. Secondary school administrators play a vital role as instructional leaders, but little is known about their knowledge of science practices and perceptions of strategies for supporting reform-oriented science instruction. This multiphase, mixed-methods Q-Methodology study explored administrators' perceptions of instructional leadership and, in particular, high-quality science instruction. After a concourse of 40 items was developed through a review of literature and an expert panel, n = 22 administrators from one urban school district completed a Q-sort and a post-sort questionnaire in which they commented on a lesson excerpt. The Covid-19 pandemic has shown a light on structural problems in education. Changing conditions, policy recommendations, and pressure from local communities have caused strain among educators and administrators across the nation. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาและกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโต 2) วิเคราะห์จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และภาวะคุกคามของการบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาสู่การเสริมสร้างกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโต 3) พัฒนากลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาสู่การเสริมสร้างกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโตของนักเรียน ดำเนินการวิจัยใช้ระเบียบการวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ ใช้วิธีเก็บข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพและข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา สังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน จำนวน 274 โรงเรียนทั่วประเทศ ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียน รองผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียน และครูผู้สอนระดับมัธยม รวมจำนวน 1,095 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบประเมินความเหมาะของกรอบแนวคิด แบบสอบถามสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาสู่การเสริมสร้างกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโตของนักเรียน และแบบประเมินความเหมาะและความเป็นไปได้ของร่างกลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาสู่การเสริมสร้างกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโตของนักเรียน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณด้วยสถิติเชิงบรรยาย คือ ร้อยละ ความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1. กรอบแนวคิดเชิงทฤษฎีของคุณลักษณะตามกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโต ประกอบด้วย 9 คุณลักษณะ ได้แก่ 1) เชื่อว่าความสามารถและสติปัญญาสามารถพัฒนาได้ 2) มองหาโอกาสที่จะพัฒนาความสามารถของตนเอง 3) กำหนดเป้าหมายในการเรียนรู้และปฏิบัติด้วยตนเอง 4) มีวินัยในการฝึกฝนอย่างมุ่งมั่น 5) ชอบความท้าทาย 6) เผชิญหน้ากับปัญหาด้วยความอดทนและไม่ยอมแพ้ต่อความล้มเหลว 7) มองความพยายามเป็นหนทางสู่ความสำเร็จ 8) เรียนรู้จากคำวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ 9) ค้นพบบทเรียนและแรงบันดาลใจในความสำเร็จของผู้อื่น กรอบแนวคิดเชิงทฤษฎีการบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา ประกอบด้วย 2 งานหลัก คือ 1) การบริหารงานวิชาการ ได้แก่ การพัฒนาหลักสูตร การจัดการเรียนการสอน การพัฒนา/สร้างสื่อ นวัตกรรม เทคโนโลยีและแหล่งเรียนรู้ การวัดผลและประเมินผล และ 2) การบริหารงานบุคคลในด้านการพัฒนาครู ได้แก่ การฝึกอบรมขณะปฏิบัติงาน และการฝึกอบรมนอกงาน 2. จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และภาวะคุกคามของการบริหารโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาสู่การเสริมสร้างกรอบความคิดแบบเติบโตของนักเรียน พบว่า การบริหารวิชาการ จุดแข็ง คือ การจัดการเรียนการสอน และการการวัดและประเมินผล จุดอ่อน คือ การพัฒนาหลักสูตรสถานศึกษา …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามและคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต 2) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นของการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต 3) พัฒนานวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ แบ่งเป็น 3 ระยะ ประชากร คือ โรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามควบคู่วิชาสามัญในสามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ คือ ปัตตานี ยะลา และนราธิวาส จํานวนทั้งสิ้น 154 โรงเรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้แก่ โรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามใน 3 จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ จํานวน 111 โรงเรียน ได้จากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้นและการสุ่มอย่างง่าย ผู้ให้ข้อมูลประกอบด้วย ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนหรือรักษาการผู้อำนวยการ 111 คน รองผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายวิชาการหรือครูหัวหน้าฝ่ายวิชาการ 111 คน ครูกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้รายวิชาสามัญ 111 คน และครูกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้รายวิชาศาสนา 111 คน รวมทั้งหมด 444 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ แบบประเมิน แบบสอบถาม และแบบสัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการคำนวณความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ความต้องการจำเป็น การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันและการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการ ประกอบด้วย (1) ด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตร (2) ด้านการจัดการเรียนการสอน และ (3) ด้านการวัดประเมินผล 2) องค์ประกอบกรอบคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต มี 6 องค์ประกอบหลัก ประกอบด้วย (1) คุณลักษณะด้านหลักศรัทธาอิสลามและการปฏิบัติ (2) คุณลักษณะด้านความคิด (3) คุณลักษณะด้านการเรียนรู้ (4) คุณลักษณะด้านวุฒิภาวะ (5) คุณลักษณะด้านการปรับตัว และ (6) คุณลักษณะด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม 2) ผลการจัดลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนเอกชนสอนศาสนาอิสลามตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต พบว่า การวัดและประเมินผล มีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นสูงที่สุด รองลงมาคือ การจัดการเรียนการสอน และการพัฒนาหลักสูตร 3) แนวปฏิบัติที่ดีในการบริหารวิชาการประกอบด้วย 53 แนวทาง 4) นวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการ คือ นวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการเพื่อเสริมสร้างคุณลักษณะเยาวชนมุสลิมสำหรับสังคมโลกอนาคต …

Campus climates are often described as “hostile” for racially minoritized populations. However, growing recognition of complexities associated with intersecting and interwoven systems of social oppression compel the field of higher education to move away from overly simplistic portrayals of postsecondary environments as “welcoming/chilly” or “positive/negative.” More than this, there is a need to engage in a broader discussion of the field’s reliance on the metaphor of meteorological climate itself as a heuristic for characterizing the nature of college learning environments. Formerly incarcerated Latinx/a/o students (FILS) are an under researched student population who are often ignored when Latinx/a/o issues are brought up. This study seeks to highlight the experiences of FILS in the higher education pipeline and their experiences in engaging in relationship with institutional agents. Using a critical qualitative race methodology, the research presents the findings from thirty-five one-on-one interviews with twenty student participants and fifteen institutional agents identified by the students as having an impact on their educational journeys. In the United States, the dearth of quality expanded learning opportunities (ELO), such as afterschool and summer programs, has long been recognized as a national concern (DeKanter et al., 2000). The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated this problem, as expanded learning opportunities of all kinds became increasingly limited in spring 2020 (Carver & Doohen, 2021). This research evaluated a new service-learning project, Honors Afterschool Clubs, which allows college students to fill ELO needs by creating and leading afterschool clubs for high-needs, low-income youth. Teacher leaders are valuable members of the school community. However, there is little existing research that explores how teacher leaders shape and enact their roles. In this article we explore how teacher leaders come to understand their role, as well as how principals and other school colleagues interact with teacher leaders and the ways in which those interactions support teacher leader role development. These findings have significant implications in helping us understand how to help teacher leaders develop in their role and the ways in which leaders can foster teacher leadership growth.

Students with disabilities in higher education have lower retention and graduation rates than students without disabilities. While postsecondary administrators are attempting to meet the needs of students by implementing necessary reforms, barriers remain like issues with disclosure, transition planning, and faculty knowledge. This present qualitative descriptive case study sought to explore the instructional practices that were implemented by technical college educators to accommodate students with learning challenges, including students with disabilities, utilizing the Universal Design for Learning framework to determine which current technical college faculty instructional accommodations practices intersect with or diverge from Universal Design for Learning principles.
