The Satellite Network of West Virginia Collection consists of the bulk of documents and other corollaria accumulated by the entity from its inception in 1986 to the time its Director, John H. Buskey, retired from his position early 2001. These documents consist of Minutes and Correspondence, Technical Information, Budgetary Data, Personnel Files, and Work Product, to name several examples. Other corollaria consist of programs found on Videocassette. The Collection is divided into fifteen (15) user-friendly sections as listed in the Table of Contents. PURPOSE: To examine a unique interdisciplinary approach to ASD care that is utilized at KidsLink School/Neurobehavioral Center through a qualitative survey. This study determines the role of each interdisciplinary team member, the advantages and disadvantages of KidsLink’s approach, what is unique about their approach, and how a collaborative approach affects individual team members. METHODS: An online qualitative survey was distributed to KidsLink’s professional staff who are members on the interdisciplinary care teams. The College of DuPage (CoD), in suburban DuPage County, Illinois and Johnson County Community College (JCCC), in suburban Johnson County, Kansas, offer an interesting lens through which to examine topics of institutional history and culture, community relationships, and the leadership decisions of first presidents and their boards. The histories of CoD and JCCC, founded in restricted residency, affluent, and rapidly expanding suburbs in the 1960s also provide telling examples of campus/community interactions around the question of who could be a part of the community – and therefore the campus. This study investigated the impact of CodeVA’s elementary coach’s academy (ECA) on computer science implementation in elementary schools across the state of Virginia. The research took a multimethod qualitative and quantitative approach through surveys, focus groups, interviews and observations of ECA coaches and participants, along with the analysis of historical data provided by CodeVA. Community College Men of Color Initiatives (CCMCIs) are increasingly popular strategies utilized to promote retention and completion among Men of Color (MOC). CCMCI directors offer a unique positionality in understanding how their identities, institutional contexts, and power dynamics affect their design of programs and participating students. In recent years, improving the quantitative methods used to assess the effect of college, and particular college experiences, on student outcomes has received increased attention (e.g., Mayhew et al., 2016). In How College Affects Students, Mayhew et al. (2016) highlighted the importance of issues of practical vs. statistical significance, self-selection into college (and by extension, self-selection into particular experiences), and direct and indirect effects, among other methodological challenges in identifying the relationships between college experiences and student learning and success. This constructivist grounded theory study examined how Queer Men of Color in culturally-based fraternities made meaning of their masculinities. Through two intensive interviews and a reflection journal activity, nine participants shared their constructions of masculinities before joining a culturally-based organization and how their thinking changed after affiliating with a fraternity. Specifically, Queer Men of Color first spoke to pre-collegiate experiences that largely shaped their views of masculinities. Next, participants discussed how culturally-based fraternities both reinforced hegemonic masculinity, as well as opened up the possibilities to construct a more productive view of masculinities. In this study, I explore how school principals experience transformative learning in relation to leadership development and how these experiences influence their leadership practices and perceptions. Transformative learning is critical for school leaders because it can lead to meaningful learning that qualitatively changes their leadership practices. Assuming that personally significant incidents are important for transformative learning, I analyzed qualitative data collected from 12 school principals in the United States. Analysis revealed that with these transformative learning experiences, school principals established strong foundations of leadership assumptions and strategies by changing and expanding their views of themselves and others. Departing from the view that learning is a linear progression, we argue that through the lens of cultural historical activity theory (CHAT) and cultural logic, teacher learning research can be advanced. Applying these two constructs to a collaborative autoethnography of two emerging scholars’ transnational teaching and learning experiences in the US and South Korea we argue that implicit and explicit norms in a culture influence the process of becoming teacher in the Korean context. Findings suggest that socio-cultural elements of implicit beliefs and norms outside of schools are linked to teacher learning inside schools, thereby suggesting that teacher learning at …

Purpose: This study examines how district governance and different school contexts in Denver’s portfolio management model affect shared leadership for learning. We define this as shared influence on instructional leadership and school-wide decision making, which research suggests have strong ties to student achievement and teacher commitment. Method: We analyze interview data from 53 administrators, teacher leaders, and teachers in eight case study schools and teacher surveys in 48 schools. In both data sets, we purposively sampled based on variance in school performance ratings and by school type (e.g., traditional public, stand-alone charter, charter management organization [CMO], and innovation schools). This qualitative study explored administrative responses to local and sociopolitical events challenging campus climates at public research universities. Using critical discourse analysis, we examined the use of language as a form of power in publicly available documents addressing campus climate for diversity and inclusion at 31 U.S. institutions. Findings center 3 themes: underlying power in determining what to address; the power of language in perpetuating or deconstructing power, privilege, and oppression; and the distinction between espousing and enacting commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

Deficit approaches to educational policy reform are pervasive in the most historically marginalized communities and school districts in the United States (US). Drawing on critical policy analysis, this study examines a disengaged school district’s leadership of a Federal School Turnaround Policy from the perspectives of minoritized communities in an urban US school district. In institutions of higher education, mandatory reporting policies require certain employees to report students’ sexual assault disclosures to university officials, even if the student does not want to report. It is commonly assumed that these policies will benefit survivors, but there is a paucity of research to substantiate this assumption. The current study examined college sexual assault survivors’ perceptions of mandatory reporting policies, including three specific policy approaches (Universal, Selective, Student-Directed). Interviews were conducted with 40 college sexual assault survivors and thematic analysis was used to analyze these data. This case explores how a needs assessment was conducted at a middle school experiencing high rates of teacher turnover. Pamela Frost, an experienced instructional designer, was assigned to assess the situation and identify opportunities to improve professional development opportunities for the teachers. As a part of a needs assessment, Pamela gathered data to address needs pertaining to classroom management challenges, teacher attrition rates, and establishing relations with the local community. This case explores how Pamela gathered data and triangulated her findings to determine what interventions were needed.

Reflection is a skill educators of school librarians hope to foster in their students. Widely used in teacher preparation (Hodgins 2014), reflective journaling is a pedagogical strategy that aligns with the text-based nature of library and information studies coursework, especially as more library schools move online (Kymes and Ray 2012). This study explores use of structured dialogic journaling as a pedagogical approach to inform and shape the reflective practice of pre-service school librarians. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาและแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก 2) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตามแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก 3) เพื่อพัฒนากลยุทธ์การบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตามแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบพหุระยะแบบผสานวิธี (Multiphase Mixed Methods Research) ประชากรได้แก่ โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา สังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน จำนวน 2,358 โรงเรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 339 โรงเรียน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลได้แก่ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนหรือรองผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายวิชาการ โรงเรียนละ 1 คน หัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้สังคมศึกษา ศาสนาและวัฒนธรรมและหัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระอื่นๆ โรงเรียนละ 2 คน และครูผู้สอนกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้สังคมศึกษา ศาสนาและวัฒนธรรมและครูผู้สอนกลุ่มสาระอื่นๆ โรงเรียนละ 2 คน เครื่องมือการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามและแบบประเมิน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นด้วยเทคนิค PNIModified และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการ ประกอบด้วย 1) การพัฒนาหลักสูตร 2) การจัดการเรียนการสอน 3) การวัดผลและประเมินผล 4) การพัฒนาและใช้สื่อเทคโนโลยีเพื่อการศึกษา กรอบแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก ประกอบด้วย 1) ด้านความรู้ความเข้าใจ 2) ด้านอารมณ์ – สังคม 3) ด้านพฤติกรรม (2) สภาพปัจจุบันพบว่าอยู่ในระดับ ปานกลาง โดยด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือ ด้านการจัดการเรียนการสอน และสภาพที่พึงประสงค์พบว่าอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือ ด้านการวัดและประเมินผล (3) กลยุทธ์การบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตามแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก ประกอบด้วย 4 กลยุทธ์หลัก คือ 1) เร่งรัดพัฒนาหลักสูตรตามแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก มี 2 กลยุทธ์รอง ได้แก่ 1.1) เพิ่มการกำหนดจุดมุ่งหมายและพัฒนาหลักสูตรสถานศึกษาเพื่อพัฒนาความเป็นพลเมืองโลกด้านความรู้ความเข้าใจและด้านพฤติกรรมให้สอดคล้องกับสภาพเศรษฐกิจและประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 1.2) ส่งเสริมการนำผลการพัฒนาหลักสูตรไปใช้ในเพื่อพัฒนาความเป็นพลเมืองโลกด้านความรู้ความเข้าใจและด้านพฤติกรรมตามสภาพเศรษฐกิจและเทคโนโลยีที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไป 2) ยกระดับการจัดการเรียนการสอนตามแนวคิดความเป็นพลเมืองโลก มี …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นของการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ไฮสโคป และ 2) เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานคร ตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ไฮสโคป ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ โรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 237 โรงเรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ โรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 71 โรงเรียน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือ ผู้อำนวยการ จำนวน 57 คน รองผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายวิชาการ 28 คน หัวหน้าแผนกอนุบาล จำนวน 41 คน ครูประจำชั้นอนุบาล จำนวน 87 คน รวมทั้งสิ้น 213 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยมีจำนวน 2 ชุด คือ แบบสอบถามเพื่อการวิจัยฯ และแบบประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของ (ร่าง) แนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ไฮสโคป สถิติที่ใช้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ การแจกแจงความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าดัชนีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็น ฐานนิยม และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ความต้องการจำเป็นของการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ไฮสโคป ด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตร มีความต้องการจำเป็นสูงสุด (PNImodified = 0.211) รองลงมาคือ การประเมินพัฒนาการ (PNImodified = 0.192) การจัดประสบการณ์ (PNImodified = 0.186) และการจัดสภาพแวดล้อม สื่อ และแหล่งเรียนรู้ (PNImodified = 0.178) ตามลำดับ 2) แนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการของโรงเรียนอนุบาลเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ไฮสโคป มีทั้งหมด 4 แนวทางหลัก และ 10 แนวทางย่อย โดยเรียงตามลำดับความต้องการจำเป็น ดังนี้ (1) พัฒนาหลักสูตรที่เน้นการเรียนรู้แบบไฮสโคปด้านการปฏิบัติและการทบทวน มี 3 แนวทางย่อย กำหนดจุดมุ่งหมายของหลักสูตรให้เด็กลงมือปฏิบัติ กำหนดเนื้อหาให้เด็กอธิบายสิ่งที่ตนเองเข้าใจของเด็ก และส่งเสริมให้มีการประเมินหลักสูตรจากการลงมือทำกิจกรรมของเด็ก (2) พัฒนาการประเมินพัฒนาการที่เน้นการเรียนรู้แบบไฮสโคปด้านการปฏิบัติ …

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบัน สภาพที่พึงประสงค์และความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดเลย ตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลและ 2) เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดเลย ตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคล ใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย ประชากร คือ โรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นไปของจังหวัดเลย ประกอบด้วย 4 โรงเรียน ได้แก่ โรงเรียนเลยพิทยาคม โรงเรียนเชียงคาน โรงเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์จุฬาภรณราชวิทยาลัย เลย และโรงเรียนศรีสงครามวิทยา ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา และครูผู้สอนรวม จำนวน 124 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามและแบบประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของร่างแนวทางฯ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าดัชนีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็น ฐานนิยมและการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ลำดับดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดเลย ตามแนวคิดการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคล ในภาพรวม พบว่าขอบข่ายการบริหารวิชาการที่มีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นสูงสุดคือ การวัดและประเมินผล รองลงมาคือ การพัฒนากระบวนการเรียนรู้ การพัฒนาหลักสูตรสถานศึกษา และการพัฒนาสื่อ นวัตกรรม และเทคโนโลยีการศึกษา ตามลำดับ ในภาพรวมขององค์ประกอบของการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคล พบว่า องค์ประกอบของการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลที่มีลำดับดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นสูงสุดคือ การกำหนดเส้นทางการเรียนรู้ของตนเอง รองลงมา คือ การกำหนดวิธีการเรียนรู้ และการจัดสภาพแวดล้อมการเรียนรู้ที่ยืดหยุ่น ตามลำดับ 2) แนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการมีทั้งหมด 4 แนวทาง ดังนี้ (1) การพัฒนาการวัดและประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ทีส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลด้านการกำหนดเส้นทางการเรียนรู้ของตนเอง (2) การพัฒนากระบวนการเรียนรู้ที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลด้านการกำหนดเส้นทางการเรียนรู้ของตนเอง (3) การพัฒนาหลักสูตรสถานศึกษาที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลด้านการกำหนดเส้นทางการเรียนรู้ของตนเอง (4) การพัฒนาสื่อ นวัตกรรม และเทคโนโลยีทางการศึกษาที่ส่งเสริมศักยภาพเฉพาะบุคคลด้านการกำหนดเส้นทางการเรียนรู้ของตนเอง

Despite the fact that intercultural competence of teachers seems to have the potential to predict organizational success, not many researchers have looked into the way of developing them in each different context. Saint Andrews International School Bangkok offered multi-cultural environment for both students and teachers, necessitating intercultural competence for every to culturally blend in.
