This major internship for the Specialist Project was served in Glen Oaks Community College, Centreville, Michigan. This 2-year college institution was established in June of 1965 and during the internship had a student enrollment of over 1,200 full-time equated (FTE) students. There were four main divisions through which programs were offered to students. They were: (a) Liberal Arts, (b) Vocational/Technical, (c) Nursing, and (d) Community Service. The supervisor of the internship was Mr. Rodger J. Eckhardt, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The major internship for the Specialist Project was served in the Office of Instructional Development on the Western Michigan University Campus. This Office has established a variety of programs and services to improve the University's educational programs and to aid other institutions of higher education. The Supervisor of the internship was Dr. Howard Poole, the Head of the Office of Instructional Development, and the University advisor was Dr. Kenneth E. Dickie. This report describes an internship completed at the Business Affairs Office, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the summer of 1977.
An internship in the Business Affairs Office was chosen to enrich the intern's conceptual, human, and technical skills pertaining to school business and finance management. The intern actively participated in the daily activities and responsibilities of each of the nine departments which compose the Business Affairs Office. He had the opportunities to confer and interview the department heads and to observe the daily functions of each department. In addition, the intern assisted in the organization and instruction …

A Model For Initiating Change In Large Social Systems, Richard E. Ault

The purpose of this study was to develop a model for introducing change in large social systems. The model was based on (1) a review of existing models, and (2) the analysis of a participant-observer study of an attempt at intraducing large system change. Organization Development was the focal change modality examined. It was intended that the model thus developed would be of utility to the practicing change agent in whatever field--education, social work, community development, government, unions, business, or industry.
From the review of existing models and related literature, it was concluded that a useful model for practitioners would …
