Assessment In Practice: A Companion Guide To The Ask Standards, Dianne M. Timm, Jan Davis Barham, Kristen Mckinney, Amanda R. Knerr

Colleges today are asked to provide greater proof that they are providing quality educational experiences to their students. There has been a growing need for student affairs to provide documentation that their areas also impact learning and student experience. However, many student affairs professionals are overwhelmed by the idea of assessment and are looking for examples of best practices in this area. Several years ago the American College Personnel Association's Commission Director for Assessment and Evaluation developed the Assessment Skills and Knowledge Standards for practitioners. This document provides exampes of these standards in practice.

The thesis is that if one focused on models of excellence in fraternity operations to learn the manner in which successful leaders and organizations achieve their objectives, much greater progress would be made than focusing on the reduction of negative issues and problems such as alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, and hazing.

The Impact Of Prekindergarten Participation Upon Academic Placement, Mary Suddarth
Masters Theses
The purpose of this study was to determine whether participation in the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Prekindergarten Program for Children At Risk of Academic Failure had impact on a child's future academic placement. Current uncertainty regarding continued ISBE or federal funding of programs makes such a longitudinal study imperative. This study examined the 1995-1996 academic placement, including additional resources required, i.e., Title 1, speech, or learning disabled services, for 40 children who participated in the 1990-1991 Hamilton-Jefferson Counties Educational Service Region cooperative prekindergarten program in Jefferson County. Results indicated that all children reached expected placement, regardless of one …
