This study is to describe the needs to develop Arabic language teaching materials for prospective Indonesian migrant workers in Middle East. It is a research and development study adapted from Borg and Gall with the following procedures: reviewing relevant literature, conducting a field observation, studying some collected documentation, and in-depths interviews. The purpose of this study is to describe the values of character education to develop teaching and learning materials for Drama course. It is a qualitative descriptive study by using Research and Development design. The data were obtained from the play entitled Panembahan Reso¸ written by W.S. Rendra by looking at the settings, the characters, the plots and some relevant documents. The technique used to collect the data was by document analysis technique. Students’ writing competence at State Senior High School Pagak I in composing poetry is still low due to difficulties in brainstorming ideas and using poetic devices. Therefore, this classroom action research was conducted to develop students’ writing competence in composing poetry through the use of the Ekonek strategy (exploration, construction, elaboration, and confirmation), focusing on (1) idea extraction, (2) idea arrangement, and (3) imagery development, diction, theme and meaning, figures of speech, rhyme and rhythm, and typography. This article discusses the development of learning components in the preparation of designing an Arabic language learning system in Madrasah Aliyah. Various development models can be utilized in designing learning systems, such as the Kemp Model, Banathy Model, PPSI Model, Dick and Carey Model, and the Almisri Model. The Almisri Model applies the following steps in designing Arabic language learning: needs analysis, formulation of needs and competencies, materials development, media and strategy development, and evaluation development. Without the provision of differentiated services for gifted students, a program would merely label them as gifted students without offering a truly gifted program. The potential risk that may arise when gifted students receive regular instructional services is underachievement; therefore, it is necessary to implement a differentiated curriculum model for gifted students. Difficulties in understanding Arabic Balaghah is common among Indonesian students learning Arabic. One of the factors attributable to the difficulties is the different characteristics of Arabic and Indonesia. This contrastive research aimed at developing more understandable materials for the study of Balaghah. The research used a quasi-experimental method. Based on the questionnaires distributed, the respondents considered that lectures using contrastive materials for the study of Balaghah were easier and more understandable.
