New and Dangerous Ideas
I wanted to expose the fact that many understand that we do not live in a just world but they do nothing to fight against it either, which makes them part of the problem. It just shows that you can know something is wrong, but if you chose not to do anything about it, then you have sided with the oppressors.

New and Dangerous Ideas
This piece is my way of responding to the accusations that a lot of minoritized peoples receive. Too often, they are asked to explain why they are offered an amazing opportunity. They do not owe anyone an explanation as to why they were chosen any more than their white counterparts would. It takes away from the joy of their success and can motivate them to avoid opportunities for success in the future.

With all of the #MeToo and sexual assault allegations appearing out of nowhere in the media these days, it gave me a flashback of my two friends who had felt this fear first-hand. I dedicated the poem/prose to them, for they have made a comeback and continue to live their lives as if nothing was holding them back, which is incredibly courageous despite everything they have gone through. This is for them.

What’S The Point Of Getting Angry?, Kaitlin Boggs-Jones
New and Dangerous Ideas
The focus of my piece is on feminist experience, on how anger is a useful tool in trying to argue feminist topics, especially in a world that helps those in power remain out of earshot of those talking about the problems in the world. I

My intent was to create something that spoke directly to the people in my community. I think many times, artists who come from obscure places try to follow trends of other major cities and that doesn’t necessarily yield the best results. I decided to create a record that included our own language, spirit and culture. It was one of the few times that the outcome matched my intent and that is very challenging for a songwriter.
Making Sense Of Exit Exam Policies: A Phenomenological Study Of English Language Development Teachers, Scott N. Forrest
Making Sense Of Exit Exam Policies: A Phenomenological Study Of English Language Development Teachers, Scott N. Forrest
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
There is a lack of understanding regarding how sensemaking could be incorporated into a professional development program to improve teacher quality and student achievement. The lived experiences of high school English language development teachers as they interpret English language development and one state's high school exit exam instructional policies were explored in this phenomenological study. The conceptual framework that supported this study is based on the theory of sensemaking, the processes by which educators interpret and implement policies. The participants were English language development teachers of English learners who have not yet passed the exit exam. Data were collected through …
Permanently Temporary: Roma Refugee Youth Seeking Schooling, Karen N. Binger
Permanently Temporary: Roma Refugee Youth Seeking Schooling, Karen N. Binger
Master's Capstone Projects
This study investigates the experiences of education in exile from a small case study of Roma refugee male youths from Kosovo temporarily settled in Macedonia as ‘asylum seekers.’ These refugees are at an overlooked age where they have slipped through the cracks between the post-war, short-term relief and longer-term development efforts in terms of education. Many of the frustrations of this community stem from their difficulties in accessing education, and their uncertain legal limbo or ‘permanently temporary’ situations.
As adolescents, refugees, and Roma, the youth are at a triple jeopardy of marginalization and invisibility. Through conversations with four Roma refugee …

The Role Of Foreign Languages In Educating Lawyers For Transnational Challenges, Vivian Grosswald Curran
Articles
In a world in which every other country seems intent on teaching English to their youth, and in which the United States educational system does not place a high priority on teaching foreign languages, the American law student, dean and professor may doubt if foreign language knowledge is anything more than marginally helpful to law graduates. Similarly, educators at the primary school level may not be likely to assess foreign language education as warranting a greater allocation of scarce public resources.
The usefulness of foreign languages to the United States lawyer gradually has been gaining increased recognition in the profession, …
