The Popeye Shiner (Notropis ariommus), occupies clear, gravel runs and flowing pools of creeks and small rivers throughout the Ohio River basin, but has declined in many areas. The Popeye Shiner is a small silvery minnow with a characteristically large eye (Figure 4). Despite being a candidate for the endangered species list (Department of the Interior, 2011), little life-history data have been published, which are needed to make conservation management decisions.

Notropis ariommus is categorized by the American Fisheries Society as a vulnerable minnow species (Warren et al, 2000). These fishes were previously known from Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Indiana, but …

Richard Newman's 2016 book Love Canal: A Toxic History from Colonial Times to the Present takes readers on a journey through time as he examines one of the most infamous examples of environmental disasters in American history. Newman details an unfortunate series of events beginning with the creation of Love's Canal and concluding with the aftermath of the residential horror. Participating in adaptive sports has many benefits for children with disabilities (CWD), however literature demonstrates that many barriers exist within community-setting adaptive sports which impact participation for CWD. There is currently a lack of understanding of the needs of CWD and the barriers that exist within schools that impact their participation in physical activities and sports. In addition, the literature demonstrates that many individuals with disabilities are not meeting the recommended minutes for daily physical activity which can impact the health and well-being of CWD (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2022).

UDL @ XU: Universal Design for Learning

Principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) were implemented to a quantitave statistics course for buiness students via a simulation game. Game logins were purchased through LSU at https://moodle.beta-versity.com.

The simulation game provided each group with a dataset to work on two semester long projects related to descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The details of the projects are included. Through the process students were exposed to the "why", the "what" and the "how" of learing.
