Continual education for faculty members working at such a prestigious educational institution, like California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), must come as second nature. The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) offered a 25-module online course in Effective Teaching Practices to various cohorts within CSUSB compiling various well-known teaching methodologies that expanded the knowledge of pedagogy for those faculty members who had an opportunity to be in each cohort. I have revised my syllabus to integrate PBL into my course, Science/Health Curriculum and Pedagogy in Elementary School (EELB 532), for this current term. I am teaching this course for the third year at the Palm Desert campus. Throughout my career as an instructor in teacher education, I have promoted PBL to my science methods students; however, this term is the first time I have integrated PBL into my course by making it a major course assignment.

This document outlines a project for a course in second language acquisition taken by undergraduates who intend to be high school or university teachers/professors. The project asks the undergraduates to design a sequence of activities for teaching English language learners (ELLs) a particular English grammatical construction, and to connect those activities to reading or writing assignments in their future classrooms. The students also must explain how their activities will facilitate ELLs' grammatical learning, drawing on research on language acquisition presented in the course.

SCIPP redefines and expands the existing notions about what makes for a vibrant and robust community of practice by partnering CSUSB students and professors with K-12 students, parents, and educators, along with committed community partners. The Flip Class teaching method learned at the CSU Symposium on Higher Education was tried in an upper division chemistry class, Physical Chemistry, and was found not to work in thisparticular class. The underlying reason may be attributed to the characteristic of the class, which is a comprehension-based subject.
