The purpose of this project is to present a professional development curriculum that promotes teacher wellbeing through a book study. The curriculum was developed considering the following research question: How can a book study be used to support strategies for teacher wellbeing? This curriculum creation is designed to supplement the Word Generation (WordGen) vocabulary program for middle school students. It adds songs and chants of the weekly focus words for use as a mnemonic device to remember and synthesize word meaning. Previous research has discussed the potential barriers to student athletes seeking mental health assistance from their institution, including by not limited to lack of time, stigma, education, and negative past experiences. From this experience I was able to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Behavioral Health programs and services at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
