Dr. Beth Fox, professor and director of graduate medical education in the Department of Family Medicine at East Tennessee State Universitys Quillen College of Medicine, is serving as the president of the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians (TNAFP).
The TNAFP supports and advocates for Tennessee family physicians as leaders and providers of quality, comprehensive, patient-centered medical care.

Embedding Affordable Learning Solutions Into The Academic Senate, Aline Soules
SJSU Open Access Conference
Embedding the Affordable Learning Solutions (ALS) into the Academic Senate provides a forum and a platform for promoting ALS to and with faculty. At Cal State East Bay, ALS is now a Subcommittee of the Committee on Instruction and Curriculum (CIC) with representation from key constituencies, including a faculty representative from each College and the Library. Recommendations and suggestions can now be routed through CIC to the full Senate. The brief lightning round presentation will explain the process of creating the subcommittee and describe the benefits and challenges the Subcommittee has experienced to date.

Festival Attendees’ Perceptions Of Green Hotel Practices, Jason D. Oliver, Alex Naar, Erin Harris
Journal of Tourism Insights
Lodging managers and festival organizers have an incentive to understand how festival attendees perceive hotels with green practices in place. Lodging managers that understand how to segment, target, and position their offerings to festival attendees, including sustainable practices, can maximize financial gains from festivals. Festival organizers have related interests: they want to minimize negative impacts on the physical environment and maximize positive customer experiences on- and off-site. To provide insights into festival attendees’ perceptions of green hotel practices that may assist both sets of stakeholders, the manuscript presents the results of a survey of convenience samples from two food festivals. …
