JOHNSON CITY (July 2, 2021) – Five East Tennessee State University students from the Department of Music clarinet studio will attend the sixth annual Minnesota Clarinet Academy, which will be held virtually July 5-9.

This international clarinet workshop draws advanced clarinet students and enthusiasts from around the world.

The participating ETSU students are Kate Boundy of Clinton; Sophia Holcomb and Emerald Mayes, both of Rogersville; Kamryn Vandyke of Grundy, Virginia; and Alexandria Harrison of Richlands, Virginia.

As an interventional cardiologist, Patel diagnoses and treats heart and blood vessel conditions and diseases through nonsurgical procedures.

This professional development workshop will focus on the soon-to-be-released remotely operated vehicle (ROV) SeaMATE Barracuda 2.0.

JOHNSON CITY (June 30, 2021) – ETSU Health will host several upcoming Janssen Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout July. This single-dose vaccine is free and available to anyone age 18 and older. No appointments are required.
 
The July clinics are as follows:

• Thursday-Friday, July 8-9
• Wednesday-Friday, July 14-16
• Wednesday-Friday, July 21-23

JOHNSON CITY (June 30, 2021) – East Tennessee State University, through the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences’ Department of Allied Health Sciences and the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies’ Office of Professional Development, will offer the Computed Tomography Certification Program.

Beginning Aug. 20 and continuing for 16 weeks through December, the course will meet online and requires clinical assignments held in affiliated hospitals. This is an opportunity for those in radiology to increase their knowledge and add to their skill base.

JOHNSON CITY – (June 17, 2021) East Tennessee State University and BrightRidge celebrated the installation of eight electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on campus today.  The project marked the 100th installation by Seven States Power Corporation in the Tennessee Valley.

The stations are funded through student fees and powered by BrightRidge, which is providing the electric fuel.  Seven States Power Corporation, an energy solutions company, is serving as project manager.

JOHNSON CITY (June 2, 2021) – A “storymap” telling the story of the Gray Fossil Site using maps of fossils clarifies how the site formed and improves paleontological research.

“Spatial Analyses of the Gray Fossil Site Vertebrate Remains” was created by David Carney, a May graduate of ETSU’s master’s degree program in geosciences with a concentration in paleontology. This study combined geographic information systems (GIS) and vertebrate taphonomy – the study of what happens to animals after death and burial – and was published as his master’s thesis.
