JOHNSON CITY, TN (August 26, 2021) — At the recent national Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) conference, East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy’s SNPhA chapter took home four national honors, including winning the National Scrapbook Competition.

The novel COVID-19 outbreak is a major public health challenge that quickly turned into an economic recession of great proportions. This pandemic poses a trade-off between health and the economy where social distancing, quarantines, and isolation shut down demand and supply chains across the USA. This paper analyzes the impact of COVID-19 on illness and death among older adults and communities of color with low socioeconomic status in New York City. JOHNSON CITY – (August 26, 2021) Crown Laboratories Chief Science Officer Dr. Thomas Hitchcock and Director of Biological Science Dr. Mun Su Rhee have been appointed as adjunct faculty members in the East Tennessee State University Department of Biomedical Sciences. The skin care company scientists join the university as part of a collaboration to foster research activity.

The appointments into the department will provide opportunities for collaboration, internships and more between Crown and ETSU, particularly in skin and microbiome science. Additionally, this will provide a potential pipeline of ETSU graduate recruiting to more technical roles within the skin care company. …

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

Purpose

Prior research has found that firms' adoption of digital technologies (i.e. digitalization) enhances transaction efficiency and improves firm performance. However, this finding is based on the assumption that firms respond to consumers' adoption of digital technology (market digitalization) in a timely fashion. The study investigates the impact of market digitalization on firm performance in Latin America, where resistance to change is often higher, despite the positive impact on performance when companies respond to the environmental shock of digitalization by restructuring.

The main objective of this paper is to explore the business model of farmers involved in organic farming and to motivate the society for entering into organic farming business as it is environment friendly and healthy for consumers as well. The methodology used for this research was mainly interviews conducted by farmers of Punjab district of Pakistan. YouTube videos on organic farming in Pakistan were also assessed for gaining more knowledge. Leading Economic Indicator Reports

The LEI-N fell by 0.17% during July 2021, the first decline in ten months. The decline in the leading indicator, which is designed to predict economic activity six months in the future, suggests that economic growth will slow in Nebraska during the first months of 2022. Four components of the leading indicator worsened during July. Building permits for single-family homes declined while there was a small drop in manufacturing hours-worked. Initial claims for unemployment insurance and the value of the U.S. dollar also rose during July. A rising U.S. dollar is challenging for Nebraska businesses, which compete in international markets. …

Battery storage coupled with solar panels became a consideration after the original net metering program in California (NEM 1.0) ended and gave way to the current net metering program (NEM 2.0). Under NEM 2.0, battery storage gives customers under time-of-use (TOU) rate plans the ability to store the excess electrical energy generated by their panels during sunlight hours (when electricity usage and resale rates are low) and then use that energy in the evening when rates are significantly higher. This reduces the amount of expensive electricity that the customer would have to purchase from the grid. It is widely expected …
