Despite well-documented potential gains from immigration, US immigration policy strictly limits immigration flows. This divergence between policy and research findings may be driven by negative individual attitudes toward immigration. Certain factors such as age, education level, political ideology, religion, and exposure to immigrants have all been shown to impact an individual's preference on immigration policy. Other theories, such as the labor market hypothesis or the fiscal burden hypothesis, point to the perceived economic threats of immigration as a leading cause of anti-immigration sentiment. I thought that was absolutely fascinating, so I did a deep dive on the subject.

My research covered fear of dogs and how it's represented in film. What I found was that hostile, cinematic depictions of human-dog interactions were oftentimes a result of the dog's status as a carrier of disease (rabies), something that lead to cultural stigmas against dogs as well as symbolization of the spread of other diseases like AIDS and the flu. Films simply used this as a way to pander to the hysteria of a certain country or time period plagued by a disease outbreak.

Why are we holding immigrants back? Occupational licensing laws are most often enacted to create standards that ensure public health and safety. These standards might require additional fees, education, hours in practice, or competency tests. There are nearly two million educated immigrants that are underutilized within the United States. Examining organized crime groups should not be purely economic; in other words, the culture, social structure, political contexts, and so on, are also critical in an insightful analysis of any organized crime group. For this paper, the Japanese yakuza are considered both in an economic viewpoint, such as how they make money, but also in other areas, such as its syndicates' notable cultural contributions and specific social characteristics. Moreover, this paper explores the dynamic changing of the organization overtime, especially in regards to its shifting relationship with the Japanese government.

Occupational commitment refers to the extent to which employees are committed to their line of work (Meyer, Allen, & Smith, 1993). This new program replaces the previous WMU General Education curriculum which was over 30 years old with curriculum concepts over 100 years old. © 2020 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. Anime tourism has emerged as an important form of tourism resulted from both online and offline human activities and interactions. However, investigations into anime tourism motivations remain limited. Using Chinese anime tourists as study subjects and employing a mixed methods approach, this study develops a five-dimension anime tourism motivation scale with sufficient reliability and validity. The five motivational factors are anime authenticity seeking, novelty, escape/relaxation, socialisation, and anime cultural exploration. This three-day STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) experience, hosted by the ETSU Office of Professional Development, includes a field trip to the ETSU Planetarium with an emphasis on the winter sky and space.

Like other organisations, the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) are not left behind to adopt technology in its management and operations. We perceived a shift in our attitudes towards gaming PCs due to Covid-19 and other aspects. I wondered if this affected a wider population. Modern Internet-based technologies pose a threat to privacy, as they possess multiple sensors or features that collect data about users. There is a need to determine the privacy risks that affect users in South Africa as there are a few studies on the subject. A qualitative study was done which involved interviewing seven experts and a survey consisting of 101 respondents. The results show that regulators view emerging technologies as potentially risky and are motivated by public interest to develop protective laws.
