The present study is to analyze the impact of rainfall on maize yield in Cuddalore district based on ten years data (2005-2006 to 2014- 2015). The study conducted with the objective of relationship between area, production, actual rainfall, and maize yield in the study area. The results of the study reveal that actual rainfall adversely affects maize productivity, while the effect of actual rainfall is maximum negative and no significant for maize crops.

Between 2015 and 2016 alone, many U.S. multinational corporations were involved in tax disputes with the European Commission. From a historical perspective, these disputes are unprecedented as they have resulted in tremendous amount of tax penalties. The most notable case was Apple for €13 billion of unpaid tax. This article discusses what tax strategies these corporations used that caused such disputes. Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to adopt the dynamic capability (DC) view as a theoretical framework to empirically investigate the relationships among human resource (HR)-related quality management (QM) practices: new product development (NPD) as a specific DC, learning orientation, knowledge integration, and strategic flexibility. Learning orientation and knowledge integration represent two antecedents of strategic flexibility, and strategic flexibility is the developed ability that facilitates NPD.

Design/methodology/approach

To empirically test the relationships, the authors used data from 236 European firms and performed structural equation modeling.

This article presents a model of leadership proposed by Jesus that contributes to outstanding leadership in cultures throughout the world. A review of the literature on servant leadership and power distance reveal that although resisted, servant leadership is a desired and appropriate form of leadership even in cultures with high power distance. A socio-rhetorical interpretation of Luke 22:24-30 is presented focusing on Jesus’ command to ‘lead as a servant’. To fill this research gap, this study examines certain CEO characteristics (such as founder status and CEO network) and two causes of philanthropy (such as business-related philanthropy and cause-related philanthropy). Using an OLS model we determine the causal relationship between football wins percentages, other independent variables, and universities’ retention rates.
