Alongside wheat and grapes, olives complete the triumvirate of ingredients that is the basis of Mediterranean cuisine, and have been cultivated for centuries. The oil of the olive is a chef's staple, while table olives add brininess and depth to many dishes.

Colleges of business typically seek accreditation to achieve legitimacy and raise their reputations. Major business school accreditors (AACSB, ACBSP, and IACBE) all base their accreditation standards on college-created mission statements. This paper describes how one Christian business school developed a unique mission statement in response to both accreditation standards and as a spiritual transformation catalyst. This statement calls for the college to “develop business leaders who embrace the values and virtues of Jesus,” and it is now being inculcated through curricular and co-curricular activities. This paper details how three programs in particular: Business as Mission, Servant Leadership, and Service Learning—manifest …

A Review of Dana Brakman Reiser and Steven A. Dean. Social Enterprise Law: Trust, Public Benefit, and Capital Markets. New York: Oxford University Press, 2017, 216 pp., $44.95 (hardback) ISBN 978-0-19-024978-6To appreciate the contribution of Professors Dana Brakman Reiser and Steven A. Dean in their pathbreaking volume on social enterprise law, we must begin by recognizing what we are not discussing. As the authors declare: “social enterprises are not charities” (p. 165). By definition, social enterprises are businesses, and thus not subject to the nondistribution constraint so familiar to nonprofit scholars and practitioners. An impact investor seeks profit, perhaps limited …

Audit Committee Industry Specialization: An Examination Of Auditor Choice, Financial Reporting Quality Implications, And Market Perception, Danny Lynn Shaw
Audit Committee Industry Specialization: An Examination Of Auditor Choice, Financial Reporting Quality Implications, And Market Perception, Danny Lynn Shaw
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
I investigate whether high-quality audit committees (ACs) prefer high-quality auditors. I then examine the benefits of high-quality ACs engaging high-quality auditors. The prediction is that high-quality ACs (i.e. those composed of members with industry expertise) will be more likely to choose high-quality auditors (i.e. Big 4/Mid-tier firms and industry specialist auditors) in order to preserve the reputational capital they have built as financial monitors. Further, improvement to financial reporting quality (FRQ) is expected to occur when an industry specialist AC engages a Big4/Mid-tier auditor (i.e. complementary relationship). On the other hand, it is expected that any incremental improvement to FRQ …

The next methodology to the Airline Quality Rating (AQR) Social Media metrics is to determine if scholarly platforms for future use can benefit the AQR. The AQR authored by Dr. Brent Bowen and Dr. Dean Headley introduced the Airline Quality Rating (AQR) in 1993 as an objective method for comparing and scoring airline performance in areas deemed to be important for consumers. The quantitative metrics from utilizing new marketing techniques have increased the audience members attracted to this report. With a digitalized driven society, social media has been the main benefactor in gaining new attention. Continuing on the process to …
A Longitudinal Analysis On The Cyclical Pattern Of The Us Airline Industry, Michelle Bennett
A Longitudinal Analysis On The Cyclical Pattern Of The Us Airline Industry, Michelle Bennett
Discovery Day - Prescott
The Airline Quality Rating (AQR) is the nation’s most comprehensive study of airline performance and quality for over two decades. The AQR sets the industry standard, providing consumers and industry watchers a way to compare performance quality among different US airlines using objective performance-based data (Bowen and Headley, 2014). The quantitative weighted average is computed monthly for every airline and divided by the sum of the weight to create the index. Criteria weighted in this formula include baggage handling, customer complaints, denied boarding and on time arrivals. This research employs the application of a longitudinal analysis methodology resulting in finding …

The Pepperdine survey investigated, for each private capital market segment, the important benchmarks that must be met in order to qualify for capital, how much capital is typically accessible, what the required returns are for extending capital in today’s economic …
