Kelly gives her father, the late George Thomas the credit of having mentored and guided her through the residential building business and Kelly also recognizes she learned decorating from watching her mother who had a natural talent for decorating. Kelly began decorating model homes while in high school. After high school, Kelly ventured into her own business called Del Pueblo Furniture and she would purchase furniture in México and re-sell it in the United States. The Influence Of Banks On Auditor Choice And Auditor Reporting In Japan, Jin Jiang

Debt as opposed to equity as the major source of financing and the influence of banks on the corporate governance of listed companies are unique features of the Japanese business environment. This thesis investigates how these features affect the choice of auditor by Japanese listed companies and auditor reporting by Japanese CPA firms on those companies. Pong and Kita (2006) provided some univariate analyses and indicated that Japanese companies tended to select the same external auditors as their main banks to reduce the agency costs. Suggestions On Effective Corporate New Employee Orientation Program For Human Resource Specialists, Xin Chen

Online Journal for Workforce Education and Development

The purpose of this study was to suggest strategies for preparing new employee orientation programs for private section organizations. More specifically, the study addressed challenges and approaches for effective orientation programs. The paper discusses two curriculum and instruction models. A model designed by Finch and Crunkilton was adapted for a general and department orientation development. The Mager and Beach’s model was suggested to use for job orientation development.

Data Governance processes, whether informal or formal, are existent in most organizations today. Data governance has become increasingly more important as the size of organizations has increased and enterprise data have become more complex. Poor data quality, poor decision-making, and policy and compliance issues have motivated organizations to explore and implement data governance programs. Organizations seek data governance programs that have clearly defined goals, processes for creating standards and policies, and metrics in place to measure progress. Management Faculty Publications and Presentations

For decades, many academicians have expressed concern about the gap between themselves and practitioners. In those decades, much has been written about the probable causes of and methods for narrowing this gap. Despite the dialog and the efforts to narrow it, the gap remains. This paper explores four assumptions related to the gap. We use paradigm theory to examine the "academic world" and the "practitioner world" and to explain how the separate worlds perpetuate the gap. We then propose that academicians either accept the gap or legitimize the pracademic viewpoint. a paradigm that reconciles the differences between the academic and …

Lisa got her start in selling retail with her mother and sister who owned and ran a local bridal shop. Lisa’s father also ran a motel and did most of the work at the motel himself.
