On 29 May 1997 the Minister for Fisheries established a Committee of Management in respect of the South Coast Purse Seine Managed Fishery under the Fisheries Adjustment Schemes Act 1987 (the Act). The initial function of the Committee of Management (the Committee) is to consider, in respect of the Fishery, the desirablity of the establishment of a Voluntary Fisheries Adjustment Scheme. This document constitutes the report of the desirability of a Scheme.

The Effects Of Organizational And Individual Learning On Job Satisfaction And Organizational Commitment, David Lee Wright

The objective of this dissertation was to assess how certain organizational-level and individual-level factors affect member job attitudes. Specifically, market orientation and organizational learning, contingent on the individual's orientation toward learning, were examined as potential predictors of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Individual performance of employees affects organizational performance. Consequently, these organizational and individual factors are significant to management because of their potential influence on the attitudes of employees.

A national sample consisting of sales and marketing executives made up the sample frame. A self-report questionnaire was mailed to 2000 randomly selected potential respondents. The return of 213 usable questionnaires …

Much of contemporary management thought and corporate practice rests upon the assumption that change and flexibility are desirable in themselves. However, activity does not always lead to progress. There might well be movement but this could be away from a known position of strength to more insecure ground. Before jumping on to the 'change for the sake of change' band wagon, companies are advised to consider aspects such as the desirability and nature of changes sought, ways of implementing changes effectively and ameliorating their negative effect.
