Large-scale disruptions that lead to extreme environmental uncertainty, combined with perceived threats and time pressure, have prompted some organizations to rapidly form new networks. This research aims to focus on how actors in these newly formed networks leverage their agile capabilities in response to extreme disruptions. Design/methodology/approach
Grounded in the agility literature, this study employs an abductive research approach and a multi-case design. Data were collected from 18 actors embedded in four newly formed networks located in the United Kingdom, Italy, Colombia and the USA. Findings

Sustainability Orientation, Sustainability Implementation, And Brand Image In Service Firms, Vafa Saboorideilami, Sandeep Jagani
Sustainability Orientation, Sustainability Implementation, And Brand Image In Service Firms, Vafa Saboorideilami, Sandeep Jagani
Barowsky School of Business | Faculty Scholarship
This paper uses legitimacy theory and cognitive dissonance theory to explore the relationship between sustainability orientation, sustainability implementation, and brand image in the service sector. Specifically, we examine the mediating role of implementation—the translation of strategic intent into actionable practices—on customers' perceptions. Using multilevel analyses of 31 US service firms and a survey of 6891 customers, we find that sustainability implementation is a strong positive predictor of brand image. However, sustainability orientation alone has a negative direct effect on brand image, suggesting that stated commitments without corresponding action can harm perceptions. Crucially, sustainability implementation positively mediates the relationship between orientation …
Operationalising The Loss And Damage Fund For Sids Under The Cop30 Implementation Agenda, Alicia Ramdal
Operationalising The Loss And Damage Fund For Sids Under The Cop30 Implementation Agenda, Alicia Ramdal
COP30
COP28 marked the formal operationalisation of the Loss and Damage Fund, however, its current structure remains inadequate to meet the urgent needs of SIDS which face recurring climate driven losses in the absence of timely and predictable finance. From the perspective of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), this paper examines the post-GST implementation gap and argues that the Fund's weak and fragmented operationalisation is a critical barrier to delivering the GST commitment to provide "timely and adequate support" to vulnerable countries. For SIDS, the credibility of COP30 and the Paris Agreement framework will hinge on embedding a delivery …

Marketization As An Influence On Leadership Behavior And Organizational Mission In U.S.-Based Nonprofit Organizations, Joshua Caulfield
Marketization As An Influence On Leadership Behavior And Organizational Mission In U.S.-Based Nonprofit Organizations, Joshua Caulfield
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Nonprofit organizations (NPOs) form a sector of society aimed at supporting specific communities without a profit motive and the encumbrances inherent in government organizations. As society has matured, NPOs find themselves engaging in their missions within the context of a highly competitive marketplace. Leadership and staff find that resource requirements are growing, the supply of funding and other sources of support is threatened, and the expectations of their communities are expanding. This has led NPO leaders to make decisions to adopt businesslike practices, called marketization, more frequently. This study explored an under-researched sector of the NPO community, trade associations and …
Challenges Leadership Faces When Trying To Expand Mobile Healthcare Utilization Within Texas Nursing Home Rehabilitation Centers, Resulting In A Potential Decline Of Physician Workflows And Probability, Erica Nicole Gibson
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The expansion of mobile healthcare utilization within Texas Nursing Home Rehabilitation Centers (TNHRC) includes numerous challenges, primarily influenced by leadership's ability to adapt to technological innovations. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between leadership practices at TNHRC and the implementation of mobile healthcare solutions by analyzing the critical impact of leadership on the activation of physician workflow and emergent patient outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine how leadership traits, behaviors, and decision-making play a role in the adoption of mobile technology (and resistance to change) in nursing homes, where a limitation in resources …

Introduction Lyme disease (LD) incidence in the United States is highly regional, with most cases occurring in 16 high-incidence jurisdictions. LD incidence and severity of disease have been found to vary by race. This study describes racial differences in knowledge, attitudes toward vaccination, and risk practices related to LD.Methods Four web-based surveys were conducted with adults and caregivers of children in high-incidence jurisdictions and 10 states neighboring them. Respondents were recruited via an established online panel to represent the general population. Self-reported race was pooled into 3 categories: 'White', 'Black or African American', and 'Other' for analysis. Analyses were conducted …

Integrated Marketing And Impact To Consumer Loyalty And Customer Satisfaction, Richard A. Sizemore
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This dissertation explored how the lack of an effective marketing strategy can result in the loss of consumer loyalty and customer satisfaction when a grocery retailer takes an omnichannel approach. The researcher used a flexible, single case study to explore the potential when a grocery retailer offers services for in-store and virtual platforms when an integrated marketing strategy is not used resulting in the loss of brand equity. The researcher was guided by two critical questions and two sub questions to set the limitations, assumptions and delimitations to understand a contemporary issue. The literature review, which contained over 110 peer-reviewed …

During the fall of 2023, Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) researchers conducted a statewide study to establish a baseline for public perceptions related to the awareness, understanding, and attitudes about challenges that Utah women and girls face. In early 2024, we published 20 short research summaries that shared the results of this comprehensive study. Then, in the fall of 2024, we administered the survey, with slight refinements, around the state of Utah. We now share the results of the 2024 data by releasing six white papers; this is the fifth in the series.
Overall, this comprehensive study was designed …

The Effects Of Conventional And Unconventional Monetary Policy Shocks On The Stock Market, Sajjadur Rahman
The Effects Of Conventional And Unconventional Monetary Policy Shocks On The Stock Market, Sajjadur Rahman
All Faculty Scholarship (Archived)
This paper applies weekly data to investigate the effects of the conventional and unconventional monetary policy shocks on US stock returns, using a multivariate structural VAR model that considers transmission mechanisms in channeling the effects of these shocks into the stock market. We identify both types of policy shocks using high and low volatility in the relevant policy variables. Our empirical results suggest that the interest rate channel, not the bank lending channel, plays a major role in the process of transmission and the US stock market responds less to the conventional monetary policy than the unconventional one. We estimate …

Nebraska Beef Cow Breeding Herd As Capital Stock, Richard Perrin, Margarida Noelia De Aguiar Cunha Souza, Lilyan E. Fulginiti
Cornhusker Economics
Throughout her lifetime, the capital stock value of a cow first rises as the size/quality of calves increase, then declines because there are fewer calves expected over her remaining lifetime. The value later in life begins to rise in anticipation of culling value.
We estimate the age distribution of the Nebraska cow herd every year, then we estimate the capital value of each cohort. Adding these values across ages and adjusting to 2015 prices, we obtain the series of capital values, measured in terms of 2015 dollars.
In addition, we calculate the value of the annual flow of services provided …
