Despite government policies and reform efforts, the adoption of improvement systems that include collaborative practices has failed to increase student achievement as measured on Ohio’s state report cards for public school districts that have implemented the Ohio Improvement Process. Dissatisfied employees are directly linked to customer dissatisfaction, resulting in decreased sales revenue. Telecommuters have been shown to have higher job satisfaction and job performance and lower turnover intentions and job-related stress than office-based workers. The association between telecommuting, job burnout, and turnover intentions of call center agents has not been fully investigated. The purpose of this study was to determine if telecommuting is associated with job burnout, and turnover intentions among call center agents. Maslach and Jackson’s burnout theory was used as the theoretical framework. Some U.S. small public corporations are delisting within five years of an initial public offering, mostly because of financial failure. Domestic small capitalization firms in the advanced manufacturing and technology industries may not know which specific business practices impact financial performance.
