This thesis presents the business case for installing green roofs on movie theaters and shopping centers. These businesses can then derive increased profits from the environmental benefits of reduced energy use and increased stormwater retention. After presenting the basic design and benefits of a green roof, the thesis develops stand-alone business plans for a movie theater and shopping center. The author finds that green roofs are a profitable sustainability solution for the commercial enterprise.

In 2012, genetically-modified crops reached 170 million hectares around the globe. The ability to patent basic forms of life such as plant properties and the legal history of those intellectual property rights gives biotechnological companies such as Monsanto immense power in the vital agricultural sector. This article outlines the concerns over genetically-modified products and the implications for follow-on advancements within biotechnology by using Monsanto as a case study. The article finds that patent policies similar to those within the United States severely restrict competition and stifle innovation in not only the agricultural sector but also within research and humanitarian projects. …

บริการสุขภาพมีการปรับตัวตามกระแสโลกาภิวัฒน์ คุณภาพบริการได้กลายมาเป็นกลยุทธ์ที่สำคัญในการสร้างความเปรียบในการแข่งขันขององค์กรที่ให้บริการสุขภาพในปัจจุบัน วัตถุประสงค์ของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เพื่อศึกษา พัฒนาตัวแบบและระบบนวัตกรรมการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล (HSQ-MS) เพื่อศึกษาว่าคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาลมีอิทธิพลต่อความพึงพอใจบริการ และส่งผลต่อพฤติกรรมการรับบริการ การวิจัยเริ่มจากการศึกษาแนวคิดคุณภาพบริการทางด้านการตลาดของ Groonroos (1984) และ Parazuraman et.al.(1988) และคุณภาพบริการทางการแพทย์ของ Donabedian (1988) ผนวกเข้ากับการรับรู้คุณภาพบริการในมุมมองผู้รับบริการและแนวคิดเรื่องความพึงพอใจผู้ป่วย ซึ่งเป็นการนำแนวคิดคุณภาพในมุมมองผู้ให้บริการและผู้รับบริการมาพัฒนาเป็นกรอบแนวคิดพื้นฐาน และนำเสนอโครงสร้างการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล โดยศึกษาองค์ประกอบย่อยภายใต้มิติคุณภาพของการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการ ด้วยตัวแบบคาโน เพื่อจัดแบ่งประเภทความสำคัญคุณลักษณะคุณภาพที่ทำให้เกิดความพึงพอใจในมุมมองของผู้รับบริการ และพบว่าปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อความพึงพอใจผู้รับบริการในทุกคุณลักษณะคุณภาพอย่างมีนัยสำคัญคือความแตกต่างของเชื้อชาติ เมื่อได้คุณลักษณะคุณภาพภายใต้องค์ประกอบมิติคุณภาพแล้ว จึงนำแนวคิดตัวแบบการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล ไปศึกษาในกลุ่มผู้เชี่ยวชาญคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาลด้วย เดลไฟล์เทคนิค เพื่อจัดกลุ่มมิติคุณภาพของตัวแบบการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล ได้องค์ประกอบมิติคุณภาพ 6 ด้านคือ มิติคุณภาพด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก มิติคุณภาพด้านบุคลากร มิติคุณภาพด้านการบริการในเชิงวิชาชีพ มิติคุณภาพด้านบริการหลักของโรงพยาบาล (ผลิตภัณฑ์) มิติคุณภาพด้านกระบวนการ และมิติคุณภาพด้านประสิทธิผลกระบวนการ ในขั้นตอนสุดท้าย ตัวแบบการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล นี้ได้นำไปปรับปรุงและยืนยันตัวแบบในด้านโมเดลการวัด และโมเดลโครงสร้างโดยใช้ การวิเคราะห์สมการโครงสร้าง ตัวแบบการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล สุดท้ายประกอบด้วย มิติคุณภาพ 6 มิติและคุณลักษณะคุณภาพ 28 ข้อ ได้รับการยืนยันว่าโมเดลการวัดมีความตรงเชิงภาวะสันนิษฐาน ความน่าเชื่อถือ และมีดัชนีความสอดคล้องซึ่งยืนยันตัวแบบที่นำเสนอซึ่งทำให้ได้ ตัวแบบการวัดคุณภาพบริการที่ต่างจากมุมมองด้านการตลาดของ Parazuraman ซึ่งมีความชัดเจนในมิติของบริการหลักซึ่งเป็นความเชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะด้านของบริการนั้นโดยเฉพาะในเชิงวิชาชีพของบริการที่ต้องการความน่าเชื่อถือระดับสูง อีกทั้งการรับรู้คุณภาพบริการซึ่งอาจไม่มีความคาดหวังในบริการนั้นมาก่อนเนื่องจากคนทั่วไปอาจไม่มีความรู้ความเข้าใจในบริการที่มีความฉพาะเจาะจง ผลลัพธ์บริการมีการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมให้มีความชัดเจนมากขึ้นเมื่อเปรียบเทียบจากการศึกษาของ Parazuraman and Groonroos ซึ่งในทางการแพทย์ตามแนวคิดของ Donabedian ได้ปรับเอาแนวคิดการรับรู้คุณภาพบริการของผู้ป่วยจากการศึกษาทางด้านการตลาดกลายเป็นประสิทธิผลบริการที่ผู้ป่วยสามารถรับรู้และประเมินได้ นอกจากนั้นการศึกษายังพบว่า คุณภาพบริการส่งผลต่อความพึงพอใจผู้รับบริการอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (β=0.99) และความพึงพอใจผู้รับบริการส่งผลต่อความตั้งใจพฤติกรรมการรับบริการ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (β =0.92) ตัวแบบนี้จึงได้นำมาใช้ในการพัฒนาระบบนวัตกรรมการวัดความพึงพอใจคุณภาพบริการโรงพยาบาล (HSQ-MS) เพื่อช่วยให้โรงพยาบาลสามารถใช้ในการวัดคุณภาพบริการ การติดตามควบคุมประสิทธิภาพบริการ และการวางแผนปรับปรุงพัฒนาอย่างเหมาะสม

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1. ศึกษาทฤษฎีและต้นแบบของการพัฒนากระบวนการ 2. การพัฒนานวัตกรรมต้นแบบของกระบวนการพัฒนานวัตกรรมกระบวนการสำหรับบริการสินไหมทดแทนธุรกิจประกันภัยรถยนต์ในประเทศไทย 3. ศึกษาการยอมรับการใช้งานของนวัตกรรมต้นแบบ 4. การนำนวัตกรรมต้นแบบไปสู่ธุรกิจเชิงพาณิชย์ วิธีวิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 4 ระยะที่ 1 (Phase) คือ การสร้างนวัตกรรมต้นแบบจำลอง; โดยการทบทวนวรรณกรรมและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกึ่งโครงสร้างกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับบริหารจำนวน 10 คนจากบริษัทประกันภัยและประกันชีวิตชั้นนำอันดับ 1 ใน 10 สถาบันการเงินและบริษัทพัฒนาระบบให้ประกันภัย ขั้นตอน; ระยะที่ 2 (Phase II) การพัฒนานวัตกรรมต้นแบบจำลองและปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อผลสำเร็จในการนำนวัตกรรมต้นแบบไปสู่การปฏิบัติ โดยนำนวัตกรรมต้นแบบเพื่อการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ (Action Research) 3 กรณีศึกษาและศึกษาวิจัยปัจจัยสำคัญที่มีผลต่อสำเร็จโดยใช้สอบถามกับกลุ่มประชากร 50 คน การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ระบบ SPSS ศึกษาวิเคราะห์ปัจจัย (Factor Analysis) โดยโปรแกรม AMOS; ระยะที่ 3 (Phase III) การปรับปรุงนวัตกรรมต้นแบบและการทดสอบการยอมรับเพื่อการใช้งาน (TAM) โดยใช้แบบสอบถามและสัมภาษณ์กับสมาชิกของทีมงานที่นำนวัตกรรมต้นแบบวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการจำนวน 7 ราย; ระยะที่ 4 (Phase IV) การศึกษาการไปสู่ธุรกิจการพาณิชย์และสรุปผลวิจัย อภิปรายผล เสนอแนะและการศึกษาวิจัยในอนาคต ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นวัตกรรมต้นแบบของกระบวนการพัฒนานวัตกรรมกระบวนการสำหรับสินไหมทดแทนธุรกิจประกันภัยรถยนต์ในประเทศไทย ได้รับการยอมรับเพื่อใช้งานจริงจากกลุ่มประชากรเป้าหมาย ทั้งหมดด้วยเหตุผลคือ เข้าใจง่าย มีขั้นตอนการทำงานชัดเจนเข้าใจง่าย สามารถนำไปใช้ได้จริง และสามารถสร้างนวัตกรรมได้ จากการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการ (Action Research) พบว่า เกิดความเร็ว (Speed) ในการพิจารณาอนุมัติสินไหมทดแทนประกันภัยรถยนต์ได้เกิดกว่า 79% มีคุณภาพ (Quality) ในการให้บริการและความถูกต้อง (Accuracy) จนสามารถสร้างความพึงพอใจให้กับลูกค้า (Customer Satisfaction) ในระยะยาว สามารถการใช้จริงเพื่อพลิกโฉมให้เกิดนวัตกรรมการให้บริการ (Service Innovation) ในธุรกิจประกันภัยไทยต่อไป

Construction workers have completed much of the shell for the Companion Building, a three-story building just north of and adjacent to the former 4-H Building on what used to be State Fair Park. The Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is combinatorial optimization problem that has real-world synonyms for many organizations and problem types. In this paper we discuss various implementations of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), an extension of the traditional traveling salesman problem and explore a best-fit solution as well as a heuristically derived “good” solution. The best-fit solution utilizes a branch and bound technique but requires an exponential amount of computational resources to complete when applied to problems of marginal size. In the Spring of 2010, the Liberty University Jerry Falwell Library began a pilot patron-driven acquisition program with the e-book aggregator ebrary. In the Fall of 2012, the program had been active for two years and the librarians sought to optimize the program in the form of selecting more titles which are used. This paper describes the formula that the librarians used to achieve optimization in the PDA program. Also described is the workflow involved with acquisitions and cataloging before and after the purchases are made.

Advertising agencies are incorporating new forms of interactive media into campaigns as media continues to rapidly change. The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study is to explore how five creative professionals at leading advertising agencies in the Midwest are integrating interactive media into campaigns. Through a series of interviews this project helps solidify what it means to integrate interactive media. The findings illustrate a fundamental shift in an industry that is moving away from “advertising.” An industry built around traditional media now requires creatives to incorporate dynamic, mobile, and social media into the marketing mix. UNL’s investment of $12 million in the Central Renewable Energy System, or CRES, has been approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and will be introduced to the Lincoln City Council on Sept. 30.
