Manufacturer’S Product Line Selling Strategy And Add-On Policy In Product Sharing, Yu Zhang, Min Huang, Lin Tian, Gangshu (George) Cai, Delong Jin, Zhiping Fan

Information Systems and Analytics

During the sharing boom, product lines and add-ons are significant for manufacturers who have established sharing platforms to provide sharing and rental services. In this paper, we consider a manufacturer that provides two products of different quality in the rental channel (i.e., the B2C sharing platform) and the sales channel. We investigate the manufacturer’s product-line selling strategies: either the manufacturer sells low-quality products and rents high-quality products (i.e., the LH product line), or the manufacturer sells high-quality products and rents low-quality products (i.e., the HL product line). We also examine whether to offer the add-on for rental products. The results …

Cyber Risk Exposure Through Supply Chain Information Network: An Application Of Social Network Analysis, Long Thai Bui Aug 2023

Cyber Risk Exposure Through Supply Chain Information Network: An Application Of Social Network Analysis, Long Thai Bui

Information Systems & Operations Management Theses - Archive

In this paper, I study the impact of supply chain information networks on cyber risk exposure. I document that firms that are more central in the supply chain information network have higher cyber risk exposure. The rapid advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) has led to increased interconnectedness within global supply chain networks. While this enhances efficiency and profitability, it also exposes these entities to systematic and contagious risks, as cyber criminals exploit the connectedness to infiltrate multiple firms simultaneously. High-profile cyber-attacks like NotPetya, SolarWinds, and Colonial Pipeline have devastating effects on organizations and pose threats to national security. …

Teaching And Assessing With Taxonomies, Tony Shannon Aug 2023

Teaching And Assessing With Taxonomies, Tony Shannon

International Journal for Business Education

The development of taxonomies which articulate learning outcomes are necessary to disconnect the silos among educators, employers and learners (Mathews, 2019; Uranis et al.) What are taxonomies? A taxonomy is a systematic classification of objects. Why do they matter? Without systematic classification and coding it is difficult to compare or combine objects. How are they relevant to teaching and learning? In the years after the Second World War, educational psychologists saw the progress made in the biological sciences with taxonomies and started to apply them in education. Among the first to appear in the mid-50s was the work of Bloom.

E-government implementation success is of critical importance for nations. Prior information systems (IS) success models emphasize the effects of information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction but do not consider e-government trust. This study incorporates e-government trust into the IS success model and empirically tests the model on empirical findings reported in 67 prior studies using meta-analysis methods and structural equation modeling. Our analysis shows that: a) information quality, service quality, system quality, and user satisfaction influence e-government trust, and b) system use mediates the effect of e-government trust on intention to use e-government systems in the future.
