The importance of records cannot be overstated for a company or government body,as they can be compared to a critical organ or as the "heart" of the organization or institution, making decisions and as proof that perhaps a rules and regulation or program has been executed. Each agency's active records are, of course, created on a daily basis, when there's no records management, the amount of records will increase and turn into a jumble of paper. The National Archives of Indonesia or ANRI places a high value on record management. In order to establish wellmanaged and ordered documents that make …

One type of social security program is the Work Accident Insurance (Jaminan Kecelakaan Kerja, JKK). The JKK is held with the aim of ensuring that participants receive health care benefits and cash compensation if a worker has a work accident or suffers from an occupational disease. The amount of the JKK premium contribution is a certain percentage of wages or income which is then deposited by the employer to the social security administering agency. Because the organizing body …

The Is Social Continuance Model: Using Conversational Agents To Support Co-Creation, Naif Alawi
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
With the rise of Agentic IS Artifact and the increasing integration of this technology within organizations, our understanding of the impact of this technology on individuals remains limited. Although IS use literature provides important guidance for organization to increase employees’ willingness to work with new technology implementations, the utilitarian view of prior IS use limits its application in light of the new evolving social interaction between humans and Agentic IS Artifacts. To that end, we contribute to the IS use literature by implementing a social view to understand the impact of Agentic IS Artifacts on an individual’s perception and behavior. …

We explored an undergraduate business program’s navigation of an unplanned change, response to the Covid-19 pandemic-occasioned move to online learning, and the resilience of its curriculum by following cohorts of students through two consecutive courses from the end of 2019 through 2020 up to summer 2021. The exploration was aimed at the assessment of the impact of the pandemic-induced disruptions, i.e., how the school’s curriculum fared through the pandemic. Premised on the school’s accreditor, AACSB’s agility-cultivating curriculum guideline, the curriculum should adapt and stabilize post-pandemic. To identify the appropriate cohort for observation, we scrutinized the four progressive levels of agility …

At the core is the narrative that captures the exam design process, the tools used, and the proctoring setup. This is a surprising but statistically validated fact revealed in a Gallup poll, and it has prompted Rosen College researchers to investigate how far it applies to hospitality. In what is thought to be the first study to look at the problem in the industry, research by Dr. Fevzi Okumus and his two former Ph.D. students reveal what hospitality employees have to say about "managers from Hell," and what this means for the sector.

Budget Gaming: Politics, Ethics, And Compensation, Gretchen Decker
Budget Gaming: Politics, Ethics, And Compensation, Gretchen Decker
Dissertations
Practitioners are frustrated with the budgeting process, frequently complaining that budgets cause undesirable and political behaviors in the organization (Jensen, 2001). One of the most frequent problems is budget gaming, which critics consider non-value added and frustrating. In a 2010 survey, over 95% of respondents acknowledged that budget gaming exists at least “occasionally” (Libby & Lindsay, 2010). Previous studies indicate budget gaming is frustrating, prevalent, and wasteful (Hansen et al., 2003; Libby & Lindsay, 2007; Neely et al., 2003).
I conducted an experiment to investigate organizational influences (organizational politics, compensation condition, ethics attestation) and their impact on budget gaming. The …

The questionnaire results show that, not the vision of German employees but their cultural openness positively correlates to the perceived need of integration. However, culturally open employees with a clear, articulated vision perceive less need to integrate their operational business into the Japanese bidder firm. This research contributes to understanding …

Thus, this dissertation adopted the 50-Item Personality questionnaire developed by Goldberg, which consited of extraversion, aggreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. The literature also revealed several common team criteria to evaluate team performance: team member satisfaction, shared …

Corporate Ethical Training: An Answer To White-Collar Crimes, Richard Pitre, Claudius Claiborne
The Journal of Values-Based Leadership
The modern business corporation is a culturally significant component of American Society. It is facing a cultural invasion of the highest order. The categorical imperative, an unconditional principle that rational individuals must follow despite natural desires or inclinations to do otherwise, is today being called into question. This is most likely the result of grounding moral values upon information that is transient and unstable rather than upon established data. The social contract, which governs the formation and maintenance of individual morals, is a requirement in organizations that demands collective agency – employees acting together to set forth moral rules of …

To offer a more focused approach, this is an evaluation specifically on reward and coercive power derived from French and Raven’s (1959) five power bases. This manuscript proposes that the motivation levels of employees change, based on their locus of control and gender. …

Building Ambidexterity In Libraries: Role Of Competitive Intelligence, Adebowale Jeremy Adetayo, Mufutau Ayobami Asiru, Ibrahim Bolaji Omolabi
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Academic libraries are increasingly becoming affected by rapid changes in information technology, competition from the private information sector and fear of losing the monopoly position. Academic libraries’ dilemma is evident, based on the declining support from parent institutions and declining use trends. In the face of stiff competition, their reaction has to be quick to preserve their place. Academic librarians cannot efficiently prepare for the future or position themselves until they create a balance between exploitation and exploration. To remain relevant, librarians must re-strategize by building ambidexterity into the library through competitive intelligence (CI). The article explores a structural approach …
