Optimizing Oncological Care: The Influence Of Ai On Insurance Approvals, Brian Cox, Alberto Coustasse

Management Faculty Research

Within the United States, oncological treatments represent a considerable portion of the health care landscape, in terms of both their prevalence and associated costs. The year 2022 witnessed 1.9 million new cancer cases and over 600,000 cancer-related deaths, signaling the pressing need for efficient strategies in managing and addressing challenges in oncology. Studies suggest that using AI-based systems to standardize clinical data submissions and integrate electronic health records using the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources data standard can optimize these processes further.

A Mixed-Method Inquiry Into Rural School Principal Perspectives Regarding Inclusion Through Social Justice Leadership, Amy J. Konz Apr 2024

A Mixed-Method Inquiry Into Rural School Principal Perspectives Regarding Inclusion Through Social Justice Leadership, Amy J. Konz

PhD in Organizational Leadership

The purpose of this exploratory mixed-methods phenomenological study was to understand the perceptions of school building leaders (SBLs), also referred to as principals, regarding their facilitation of social justice leadership (SJL) and culturally responsive school leadership (CRSL) practices to support student inclusion and belongingness within the K-12 educational setting in NYS. This research study fills the knowledge gap related to student belongingness through the principal's perspective and illuminates how SBLs support inclusion. First, nine high-need rural school principals participated in semi-structured interviews, and second, 101 SBLs from across NYS completed a survey using the Social Justice Behavior Scale (SJBS). Findings …

The research questions for this study addressed how using CI to establish the VB statement affected the development of the CoP, the meaning …

Does Participation Matter? Exploring The Role Of Participation In Corporate Leadership Development Programs On The Intent To Stay Of High-Potential Employees In The Biotech Industry, Glenna M. Griffin Apr 2024

Does Participation Matter? Exploring The Role Of Participation In Corporate Leadership Development Programs On The Intent To Stay Of High-Potential Employees In The Biotech Industry, Glenna M. Griffin

PhD in Organizational Leadership

The idea of leadership development programs for high-potential employees within organizations has long been a standard for driving employee retention within organizations. Yet, employee retention is different from employee intent to stay. Retention metrics measure historical data, looking back to determine how long an employee has stayed in the organization. Employee intent to stay measures, at that moment, data that contribute to an employee’s motivation to stay with the organization. Employers spend significant budgets on leadership development programs for high-potential employees and report on that participation in company retention metrics. Does the investment in these programs also support an employee’s …

Exploring The Intersection Of Ethical And Virtuous Leadership: An Analysis Of Correlation And Interchangeability Of Measurement Tools, Ty H. Wenglar Apr 2024

Exploring The Intersection Of Ethical And Virtuous Leadership: An Analysis Of Correlation And Interchangeability Of Measurement Tools, Ty H. Wenglar

PhD in Organizational Leadership

Exploring the nuanced dimensions of leadership within contemporary organizational contexts, in this study, I delved into the correlation and interchangeability between virtuous and ethical leadership paradigms. Anchored in a methodological framework that includes a thorough literature review and a correlation research design, I assessed the relationship between perceptions of virtuous leadership (measured by the virtuous leadership questionnaire) and ethical leadership (measured by the ethical leadership scale) among leaders and subordinates across a representative demographic of the professional business environment. Drawing from a qualified participant pool of 533, I found a statistically significant, direct, and robust correlation (r = .91, p < .001) between virtuous and ethical leadership perceptions. Simple linear regression analysis showed that perceptions of virtuous leadership significantly predict those of ethical leadership, explaining 83.02% of the variance in ethical leadership perceptions (F (1,531) = 2,596.06, p < .001, R² = .83). These findings illuminate the close alignment between the constructs of virtuous and ethical leadership and suggest the potential use of their measurement instruments interchangeably without modification. By challenging traditional leadership models and advocating for an integrated approach to moral leadership, I highlight the critical importance of fostering both ethical behaviors and virtuous traits for effective leadership. A discussion of the implications for leadership development within organizations and outline directions for future research is provided, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach to cultivating leadership qualities that enhance organizational culture and effectiveness.

PhD in Organizational Leadership

The United States' national security depends upon high-performing leaders within select high-stress and high-risk military functional communities. The theoretical foundation of this study encompassed personality trait theory, theories of human resource management and performance, and criterion measurement theories. The TAKE5 FC, a commercially available forced-choice five-factor model personality assessment, measured personality traits. …

Innovative Retail: A Framework For The Future Of Brick-And-Mortar Retail In An Omnichannel Market, Mallory S. Strmel

Senior Theses

This thesis was intended to explore the how the role of innovation in customer experience has evolved since the advent of American retail and how it can inform primarily brick-and-mortar retailers on corporate strategy formulation as they prepare for Generation Z to become the primary wielders of purchasing power in the retail landscape. A literature review featuring analysis of two best-in-class retail chains alongside their historical context revealed that many of the innovations in customer experience strategy shaped consumer behavior going forward. Ceo Polychronicity And Firm Resilience, Qianliang Xia Apr 2024

Ceo Polychronicity And Firm Resilience, Qianliang Xia

Dissertations and Theses Collection (Open Access)

In my dissertation, I examined the effect of CEO polychronicity on firm resilience. Building on the upper echelons theory, I argue that polychronic CEOs could divide their attention to multitask, which might prevent firms with extreme risk with more information acquired and backup plans reserved; in addition, polychronic CEOs should be more capable of handling the threats and disruptions. Thus, polychronic CEOs help build firm resilience. In addition, I propose the six moderators that could influence the effect of CEO polychronicity on firm resilience including market competition, market complexity, innovation capability, financial slack, TMT size and CEO duality. I collected …

Exploring The Effect Of Logos With Animals, Can Trinh Apr 2024

Exploring The Effect Of Logos With Animals, Can Trinh

AMTP Proceedings 2024

Even though the use of logos that feature animals is prevalent (e.g., Porsche, Lamborghini, Hollister), there is a scant number of empirical works that examine the effect of such logos on marketing outcomes. This research represents a pioneering attempt to address this critical theoretical gap. We propose that logos that feature animals (i.e., animal logos) can influence product perceptions. Empirical evidence from two studies supports our propositions. The findings provide meaningful implications for both theory and practice.
