Resignation Typology And Its Impact On Entrepreneurial Intention And Action, Shuaijun Zhang, Wanrong Hou, Sibin Wu

By categorizing resignees into “genius,” “traditional,” “forced,” and “trapped,” this study examines the relationship between different types of resignees and entrepreneurial intention and action. Furthermore, we argue that anticipated regret and dormant tie reactivation moderate this relationship. An analysis of survey data from 781 participants in the United States indicates that the types of resignees exert varying influences on entrepreneurial intention and action. Compared with “traditional” and “trapped,” but not “forced,” the “genius” group have high intention of starting their own enterprises. Teams researchers, meta-analysts, and others often study relationships between group-level constructs measured by aggregating individual-level variables, but it is well-known that group-mean correlations are influenced by individual-level relationships. We review multilevel issues and current practices in estimating and adjusting group-mean associations. We give special attention to comparisons across levels of analysis, and to adjustments for estimating population parameters. A Monte Carlo simulation study indicates that the two most commonly used adjustments in meta-analysis are ineffective in estimating population-based effect sizes. They frequently overestimate true relationships, sometimes severely. Indeed, simulations show that common adjustments move estimates away from population values in …

We introduce the concept of entrepreneur political ideology divergence, defined as the absolute ideological distance between an entrepreneur’s political ideology and that of the respective state governance. Building on organizational research on political ideology and strategic risk management reasoning, we argue that political ideology divergence heightens entrepreneurs’ perceptions of regime uncertainty and legitimacy threats, prompting entrepreneurial firm-level responses. Specifically, we theorize and find that entrepreneurial firm engagement in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices functions as a strategic outcome, that is, a response entrepreneurs use to manage political ideology divergence. Although previous research has established that supportive supervision influences case manager retention, little was known about child welfare supervisors’ perceptions of the organizational support they receive or how adaptive leadership behaviors demonstrated by organizational leaders influence those perceptions. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of 13 supervisors employed in Florida nonprofit child welfare organizations. This study uses an econometric approach to examine how sustainability indicators affect agricultural output in Iraq. Water sustainability, food security sustainability, the agricultural labor force, and virtual water imports are independent variables, and agricultural output is the dependent variable. The analysis uses annual data from 1990 to 2024. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model is applied to analyze both short- and long-run relationships. Specifically, the results confirm the existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between sustainability indicators and agricultural output. This study investigates the strategic dilemma faced by banking institutions in allocating resources between digital and conventional customer acquisition channels. Using a unique panel dataset from 38 Islamic bank branches, we analyze the comparative effectiveness of digital (Online Onboarding) and conventional (Payroll and Branch Registration) strategies on branch-level financial performance. Our findings reveal a significant efficiency-profitability paradox: a digital-dominant strategic orientation is associated with superior operational efficiency but does not translate into higher profitability. Many employers screen job applicants with algorithms built by the same few algorithm vendors. We hypothesize that algorithmic monoculture leads to the same individuals and members of the same racial groups facing rejection. We acquire and analyze a novel dataset of 3 million applicants submitting 4 million applications where all the applications are screened by algorithms built by the same vendor. We find clear racial disparities in applicant outcomes. Of all applications submitted by Asian and Black applicants, 14.74% and 25.87% are submitted to positions that adversely impact Asian and Black applicants, respectively, according to U.S. employment discrimination standards. The escalating climate crisis has elevated waste management from an operational concern to a critical issue of corporate governance. However, the role of board connectedness in shaping firms' waste practices remains largely unexplored. Drawing on resource dependency and social capital theories, this study examines how board network centrality influences waste management practices. Employing pooled OLS on 4948 firm- year observations from US- listed firms during 2004–2023, we find that higher board connectedness leads to a significant reduction in waste generation. Economically, a one standard deviation increase in DEGREE centrality is associated with a 3.4% decrease in total waste generation. Our …

This phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of Black women community leaders as they navigate a balance between their professional, personal, and community leadership roles. The research design uses the theoretical frameworks of Black Feminist Intersectionality and Role Theory, specifically addressing the cultural burdens imposed by the Strong Black Woman archetype, which adds additional role strain. The study began with a questionnaire completed by 54 Black women community leaders, followed by 20 in-depth, semi-structured interviews selected from this pool.
