Busman’s Honeymoon is the story of Dorothy Sayer’s famous detective, Lord Peter Whimsey, and his new wife, Harriette Vane, who have just arrived at an old farmhouse in Hertfordshire where they plan to spend their honeymoon. When they discover the owner of the house murdered, their honeymoon is disrupted and they work together to discover the murderer.

This is an original compiled script of selected materials relating to the common experiences of women. The intention was to present a work that would touch all women by describing experiences that are shared among us generally. The script utilized materials from a variety of sources: prose, diaries, poems and plays. The tone of the pieces selected were both serious and humorous. Through the assembling of these pieces, a complete script was created. The final goal of the work was to create a sense of bonding among the women in the audience. Vladimir Kirshon was a proletarian playwright of the Soviet Union who died in the Great Purge. The thesis presents an English version of the author's last play, The Great Day, which is preceded by an introduction which places Kirshon and his plays in their proper historical context. The introduction details Kirshon's political and artistic background and his politico-literary position as a playwright. The introduction and analysis of the play produce an understanding of Vladimir Kirshon as a Soviet proletarian playwright and an understanding of the spirit in which The Great Day was written.

As the search for the fortune plays out the question becomes who is really crazy, the residents of the sanatorium or Ethel’s stepchildren.
