Jack Kleinsinger presents Highlights in Jazz. The concert was held at The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Thursday, November 6th, 2003 at 8:00 pm. Jack served as producer and master of ceremonies for the series of concerts. Artists for the concert include Terry Gibbs, Frank Wess, Mike LeDonne, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Ron Odrich, Gene Bertoncini, Frank Vignola, and Eugene Maslov. Surprise Guests Pablo Bencid and Charles Dambrough.

Blend-ACombinationofElements was a student magazine started by RISD student Dusty Brickman in 2003. The Fall 2003 issue is "The Passion Issue," and features articles on an exhibition with a custom installation by Sol LeWitt at the RISD Museum, the history of various buildings on the RISD campus, street graphics and urban art in Providence, luxury knitwear brand Lutz & Patmos, photographer Timothy White, deceased alum Jeffrey Michael Weiss, and the RISD Artist Ball.

Towards A New Form Of Opera Production, David Smith, Frederick Bianchi

Publications and Research

Opera has historically been one of the most expensive and complex art forms to produce, limiting its accessibility and viability, especially for smaller companies and touring productions. This paper proposes a new model for opera production that utilizes emerging technologies—such as synchronized digital music systems, real-time projection, and programmable lighting—to create high-quality operatic experiences at significantly reduced cost. By leveraging tools like the Sinfonia system for musical timing and dynamic visual elements controlled by digital protocols, opera can be made portable, repeatable, and customizable.
