On November 6, 2017 TxDOT archeologists conducted an intensive archeological survey under Texas Antiquities Permit Number 8212 for the proposed widening of the east/west segment of State Highway (SH) 165 located within the Texas State Cemetery in Austin in Travis County, Texas. The Texas State Cemetery has been previously determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and is also recorded as a Texas State Antiquities Landmark. The cemetery has been previously recorded as the archeological site, 41TV1700.

In August 2017, Deep East Texas Archaeological Consultants (DETAC) conducted a cultural resource management survey of the proposed Farmersville sewer system improvements in Collin County, Texas (TWDB/THC #201700814) under Texas Antiquities Permit #7990. Proposed improvements include 12.3 km (7.6 mi) along seven pipelines along with modifications to three lift stations and the construction of four lift stations. Total project area was 7.7 hectares (19.1 acres). Shovel testing and visual examination did not find any evidence of cultural resources; no artifacts were collected. An intensive archeological survey was completed in order to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed widening improvements to Farm-to-Market Road 2100 between Huffman-Cleveland Road and the proposed State Highway (SH) 99 (Grand Parkway) in eastern Harris County, Texas. The project is approximately 5.73 miles or 9.2 kilometers in length and has a typical width of between 150 to 220 feet or 45.7 to 67.0 meters. The APE is 147.37 acres or 83 hectares with 90.93 acres or 36.8 hectares of the total being new right-of-way. Typical roadway construction would occur within 2 feet or 0.6 meters, …

The investigations were prompted by the planned replacement of the County Road 314 bridge over Station Creek (CSJ No. 0909-39-117) just upstream from where it flows into the Leon River and were done in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the Antiquities Code of Texas.
