Catherine De Medici Her Influence On France, Catherine Mary Croke
Catherine De Medici Her Influence On France, Catherine Mary Croke
Bachelors’ Theses
In writing this thesis my aim will be to state the true facts as far as that lies within my ability. To accomplish this I will have to surmount obstacles of no small dimensions. In order to understand the difficulties which surround my efforts in this direction, we have only to recall how difficult it is to arrive at the knowledge of true and real facts in matters of everyday occurrences. To impress this later statement on our minds I make reference to the late United States Presidential election, it was by no means easy to become acquainted with the …

The Franco-German War Of 1870, Angeline J. Koenings
The Franco-German War Of 1870, Angeline J. Koenings
Bachelors’ Theses
Volumes have been written by men, who were by far mere capable and in a better position than I, on the various phases of the great Franco-German War of 1870. To claim that this thesis sets forth ideas and historical facts unknown before would be both preposterous and presumptuous on my part I have merely attempted to narrate clearly, impartially, and concisely the logical sequence of one of the most important wars in history - the important roles played by the two leading figures of the 19th century, Bismarck and Napoleon III, the causes, underlying and immediate, of the period …

Plays Of The Quinteros, Carolyn Elizabeth Stehling
Plays Of The Quinteros, Carolyn Elizabeth Stehling
Bachelors’ Theses
Dramatic poetry began but late in Spain, though it was to flower there so brilliantly. In Spain, as in France, England, and in fact in practically all other countries, the drama grew out of the liturgical cere¬ monies of the Church. Some of them, in particular the Passion and Nativity adapted themselves readily to stage presentations. These elements developed when French Monks introduced, together with other customs of their native Churches, this type of literature which was already flourishing in France. The legal texts of the Middle Ages, the "Puerto Juzgo" and later the "Siete Partidas", shed some light upon …

History Of The Salem Witchcraft Trials, Richard J. Smrz
Bachelors’ Theses
The history of the Salem Witchcraft Trials is little known and what little knowledge there is of the trials that has been gathered from secondary sources. In writing my thesis I too have been handicapped by the lack of original sources. However, I have done the next best thing to consulting the original sources, by following authors who have had access to these sources. Consequently, i took the liberty of using the source material found in Mr. Nevins book on Salem witchcraft as also the works of Mr. Taylor and Governor Hutchinson on the same subject. The works of these …
