In May 2021, a trial excavation was conducted at Ramat Bet Shemesh (Neighborhood C2, Lot 508; Permit No. A-9014/2021; Map ref. 199112/623221). The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Yahel Engineers company, was directed by L. Silas, with the assistance of N. Nehama (administration), S. Halevi (photogrammetry, photography and measurements) and Y. Zelinger (scientific consulting). A hewn winepress with a treading surface was excavated and documented (Figure 1).

In June 2021, a salvage excavation was conducted at Har ‘Amasa (Permit No. A-9034/2021; map ref. 208830–926/583382–4831). The site is located near the wastewater treatment plant, in agricultural fields, in the northwestern part of the Har ‘Amasa settlement (Fig. 1). The excavation was opened as a result of the damage caused by infrastructure works carried out by Mekorot, during which two terraces were cut by a backhoe.

Medicaid is the largest health insurance in the U.S. It provides health coverage to over 68 million individuals, costs the nation over $600 billion a year, and subject to improper payments (fraud, waste, and abuse) or inaccurate payments (claim processed erroneously). Medicaid programs partially use Fee-For-Services (FFS) to provide coverage to beneficiaries by adjudicating claims and leveraging traditional inferential statistics to verify the quality of adjudicated claims. In order to explore the cultural relationships between people, landscape, memory and ritual, this master’s thesis focuses on the Acheron River in Epirus, Greece, long believed to harbor an entrance into Hades, the Greek underworld. Various entrances into the chthonic, or subterranean land of the dead, are peppered throughout Greece, with each tied to their own local myths, legends, folklore and cults. According to those traditions, Hades could be accessed from several terrestrial rivers thought to be connected to Oceanus, the primordial world-encompassing river surrounding all of creation. The question of the different kinds of loom used in ancient Egypt is one of the most crucial issues to understanding the evolution of textile production and its technological development in the Nile Valley. However, sources concerning looms (archaeological, iconographic and written) from the Pharaonic era until the Arab medieval period are meagre, and many research questions remain open. This article is an attempt at a new interpretation of some evidence, particularly iconographic and papyrological, which could add new data to the study of weaving looms used in Egypt of the early Roman period (1st–2nd century AD).
