This essay is about a country with twenty-six million people, including 1.5 million refugees and a lot of problems due to the Anglophone crisis. It gives an in-depth view on the complex yet vibrant multilingualism in Cameroon with over 240 ethnic groups and many languages. The economically disadvantaged parts of Cameroon are the Anglophone regions such as the North-West with poverty rates at 57% and the South-West at 21% respectively for the year 2019. The Intersections Of Migration And Identity In Young Adult Literature Of The French-Speaking World, Kaitlyn Waller

Both young adult literature and novels of migration frequently deal with the construction of identity, from coming-of-age stories to narratives of intercultural exploration and hybridization. Young adult narratives of migration, then, represent a fascinating intersection of two literary traditions for the exploration of questions of identity. However, young adult literature and its varied subgenres are often overlooked among the broader critical scholarship of migration narratives. Indeed, the genre is often critiqued as too simplistic or pedagogical to truly merit consideration among adult readers and academics. La Dynamique D'Un Engagement « Poélitique » : Le Cas Du Théâtre De Maryse Condé, Edwige Gbouablé

Maryse Condé's plays reveal both a scriptural and thematic dynamism. This movement manifests a commitment that renews itself through the dramatization of varied sociopolitical current events. The first plays of the Guadeloupean showcase slavery, colonization and Independence. The problematic of the future of Black peoples flowing from them resounds differently in her recent works. Maryse Condé complexifies it indeed and updates it constantly. This makes her an unconventional author, for her writing takes roots in negritude, partakes in post-negritude and proceeds equally from a dramaturgy of uprootedness.

Partant du constat de la précarité du genre autobiographique dans la littérature haïtienne, et des théories formelle (Lejeune), philosophique et historique (Price-Mars, Gusdorf, Fanon, Glissant…), psychanalytique et rhétorique (Fanon, Doubrovsky, Kristeva…) sur le genre lui-même ou traitant de l’identité et de l’individuation, je propose un cadre d’établissement d’un corpus haïtien de l’écriture de soi. Cette étude se focalise sur la crise d’identité dans deux textes africains, écrit en français, Une vie de boy, de Ferdinand Oyono, et L’ex-père de la nation d’Aminata Sow Fall. Les personnages principaux de ces deux romans se trouvent dans des situations compliquées à cause des traces laissés par l’époque coloniale. In Search Of The Anglophone Doctor In Jacques Ferron’S Story “Le Petit William”, Vivian C. Mcalister, Christiane I. Mcalister

The story of ‘Le Petit William’ (Contes anglais, 1964) is based on Ferron’s experiences as a general practitioner in the Gaspé in 1946. A medical event, use of the maternal left lateral position by a sage-femme to deliver a baby boy, becomes allegory. The sage-femme had learned the technique from a visiting Anglophone doctor. A simple joke, which superficially appears to be the story’s culmination, takes on a sombre political tone when considered in the light of the Latin epigraph. Trips to the Gaspé, a review of the history of obstetrics and speculation are used in this paper to understand …

Three women narrate their lives in French, the colonist's language, instead of in Arabic, their mother tongue. They pay homage to their families in order to rid themselves of guilty and revengeful feelings. In Les saisons de passage and Le bonheur a la queue glissante, Andree Chedid and Abla Farhoud express their love for an absent mother, who represents both the rebellious and submissive arabic woman. In La prisonniere, Malika Oufkir denounces the king's injustice for having condemned Oufkir's family for life and General Oufkir to death because he attempted a military putch against Hassan II.
